Javiar has been my one and only Shoe Cobbler since I put my wheels down here in SanDiego County back in 2021... In addition to normal maintenance - soles, heels, patches on my leather, belt fixing & stuff - he has been kind enough to accept a few totally custom orders from me: knife death, collars adjusted, belt lengthening, custom strap tie downs inside my boots to secure my ... my.. uhm, my 'TOOLS' so they don't wind up in a weed overgrown storage lot one night while I'm out grinding the grace digger shift earning my paycheck ; and he is totally rehabbing a thigh high pair of handmade boots which were drastically out of spec' when they arrived from the Boot Base where they were made . *it's a place which must not use our number system much because the gap up on my thighs was over 5 inches 😱 so, reworking them and making them right is a tall, work intensive project... I'm thrilled that he looked interested and eager to get them started because it would have been a $400 waste if he decided he was too busy - and YES! Dude stays busy af! Mr Rojas is taking them in, cutting the shafts back in width, insurance the proper curves and symmetry are appreciated when completely finished, and then reinstalling the zippers... I am under no illusion that this was any "average day, normal, sure WTH, this is a P.O.C" no brainer task to undertake... Dude knows his trade and I respect an Artisan who kicks butt while enjoying his craft, a Specialist who is creative and motivated enough to HAPPILY accept a challenge and asks only for affordable reasonable compensation. I'll probably be begging for a new scabbard for my 2 way radio soon as well If you need shoe, boot, belt, or purse work... patches sewed down, zippers put in, or pretty much WTF ever 'LEATHER' Mr Rojas is THE MAN to see!
