“A couple years ago, I had gotten some quotes for window replacement, but no one could seem to talk to me about the specifics of how the work would be done, trade offs between this window or that, what we should expect from the whole process --- basically the people that came out could only give a quote for some windows, not explain why, and that was it. “Love working with V&W. Paul came out and talked with us to help us choose better windows than what we had. He showed us samples of a few brands. We also went to their showroom in West Berkeley to see the full size windows. Gave us a quote for MIlgard energy efficient windows and a sliding patio door. Quote was very competitive compared to the Anderson and Pella windows we also got quoted. We ended up only ordering the sliding patio door, and will get the rest of the windows in the future, but Paul was happy to work with us on the smaller job. We got a formal quote, paid a deposit, and six weeks later (just as promised) the Milgard patio door showed up at V&W. Their installer, Damian, called to arrange a time to install, which he did this Wednesday. Damian was on time, friendly, and very professional. Highly recommend V&W. They are a locally owned company and offer high quality, great service and competitive pricing.“

“After someone broke the glass window on our door at 8am (rude!), I called The Glass Man and spoke with Sandy who said she could rearrange their schedule to help us out that same day! They arrived that afternoon and by 4pm they had gotten rid of the broken glass, installed a much stronger glass pane in the door, and replaced a single pane window in another door with that stronger glass. “I've had several windows built here over the years. Each project has gone great... I got what was ordered.You need to understand this place is old school. There's a front office. They've heard what email is, but don't really use it. Bring a pencil and paper and be prepared to wait. But you watch the production processing chugging along right there. No computers. No CAD. Just wood, saws and various types of glass (including various glazing). Everything they build, they can repair (unlike modern plastic/metal/fiberglass creations which are disposable).“

“we moved in to these apartments in the middle of October. this was both mine and my boyfriends first time moving where we would not be living with family or friends so we honestly did not know much. I came to this building on whim after checking another apartment nearby but not loving what they offered for the price. Erika, was extremely welcoming and helped me find an apartment well within our budget. The only problem was i couldn't see the exact unit as it wasn't available yet. Erika still took her time showing me multiple other apartments in the building so i could get a sense of our potential unit could look like. Deciding i couldn't pass up on the deal she had found we decided to apply and got approved. As i said this was our first time going through this process. Which led to many many questions on our part that Erika always happily answered in a timely matter. She really made our move in process so much less stressful than it could've been. We've been here for a few months now and are extremely happy. It's a very chill place, everyone we've come into contact with is super friendly and they even have small community events happen (most recent was a holiday market with local vendors) which is adorable. As a woman i feel safe here and love that they offer parking within the gated buildings so if you come home late at night you don't have to worry. It has also made my commute to sf for work a breeze. Highly recommend checking this place out and speaking to one of the leasing agents to see if it could be good fit for your needs.“

“My patio door frame came apart and was separated from the glass portion. Wasn’t sure how to fix it and didn’t want to replace the entire door. I texted Jimenez Glass and he was able to provide an estimate over the phone after I sent him a couple of photos of the door.

As others have indicated, Mr. Jimenez is busy on jobs so doesn’t respond to text right away. But it was easy scheduling via text and his 2-person crew was able to swing by and add a bracket to secure the door frame, and before resealing the glass. They took some extra time to adjust the glass into the frame properly and cleaned the glass afterwards. I was very happy thT it hey could fix the door for a reasonable price.

I added a new word “glazier” to my vocabulary: Glaziers like Jimenez Glass can fix things that deal with glass. And they are licensed by the state of California.“

“Window measurements scare me because it has to be precise so doing it myself was out of the question. If you need a pro they have the people to do it there. I thought I was going to have a serious problem looking for replacement screens in and almond colored finish and odd sizes.

Fernanda was super nice on the phone when I called. She said if I had the screens even better so I took off my old screens, rinsed and dried them and brought them to her. She told me it would take about 1 week for my replacement screens. She called me in less than a week and I had 5 screens made. Amazing!

The screens look professionally made and they secured it together so it wouldn't bend. I will definetely call them with the sliding door screen goes kaput.“

“I ordered 15 windows, a sliding door, and a bifold patio door with Golden State Berkeley. Throughout the process, David Gregory was amazing. Super knowledgeable, helpful and generous with his time. I would often come into his office without an appointment and sit down with him for 20 or 30 minutes to go over my order. He gave me a ton of advice, and helped me realize substantial savings by changing some of the window sizes that my architect had specified to slightly smaller or larger standard sizes, saving about a hundred or so on each window.

Price wise, I was expecting them to be on the more expensive side, but when I compared his quote with the same quote from Ashby Lumber and Economy Lumber, it was cheaper than both.

On the service side, I had a few issues: one of the windows arrived with factory damage, and another wasn't operating properly. I sent them photos and videos, they replaced the damaged window panel pretty quickly with a brand new one, and sent a technician to inspect the malfunctioning one, which turned out to be a simple installation issue with a 5 minute fix. Their technician was great too by the way (Jose Flores), he helped me with an unrelated issue on one of my older windows.

Great price, great service, will absolutely order from them again.“
