“I'm a Marine veteran and I've dealt with low-back, neck, and shoulder pain for years. The VA referred me to George Wang for acupuncture, and I've honestly noticed a huge difference since I started seeing him.
Before I started going, my back pain especially was getting to the point where it was debilitating. I was constantly hurting just trying to move around and do normal everyday things. The pain isn't completely gone and I still have some dull pain, but it has gone down significantly. I'm able to move around and do things a lot easier now without constantly being in severe pain.
George is super friendly and really easy to talk to. He has great conversation and genuinely seems to care about his patients. I also really like that this is a small local, family-run place. From what I've seen, it seems like it's just George and his wife running everything. I much prefer supporting a small local business like this, especially when you get this kind of personal attention.
One of the biggest things I appreciate is that it's not like a conveyor belt where they're trying to get you in and out as fast as possible. George actually takes his time with you. What's crazy is I don't even have to tell him exactly where the painful spots are. I'll just tell him the general area that's bothering me and somehow he'll find the exact spots that hurt and get them right on point. I seriously don't know how he does it. It's like magic lol.
He definitely doesn't skimp on the acupuncture either. He'll easily use 20+ needles and attaches electrical stimulation to some of them. He also uses a heat lamp while the needles are in. Then he does cupping, which feels great, and afterward he'll massage all the areas he worked on for a few minutes. The massage at the end feels absolutely amazing after the acupuncture and cupping, and everything feels so much looser and relaxed afterward.
He's also really good about scheduling. I've never had a problem getting an appointment that works with my schedule. If I'm busy on a certain day, he'll find another day and time that works for me. He also texts me the day before to remind me of my appointment, which I really appreciate.
Every now and then I'll see another patient when I'm coming in or leaving, and they always seem really happy with their treatment and genuinely happy to see George. Just from seeing those interactions, you can tell he seems to have really good relationships with his patients.
As a veteran, something else that means a lot to me is that George works with the VA and takes care of veterans who are referred to him for treatment. In his own way, George is doing a service to his country by taking care of those who served and sustained injuries in and out of combat. I really appreciate the care and respect he gives veterans, and my experience with him through the VA has been great.
Overall, I really feel like I'm getting a full treatment every time I go instead of somebody doing the bare minimum and sending me out the door. George takes his time and actually takes care of his patients. Most importantly for me, my low-back, neck, and shoulder pain has improved significantly since I started seeing him, and it's made everyday life a lot easier.
I'm definitely going to keep coming back. If you're looking for acupuncture in El Dorado Hills, especially if you're a veteran being referred through the VA, I highly recommend George.”
