That was my reaction seeing the finished transformation after Drew and his sons worked their magic to beautify our hideous portion of driveway concrete that was sadly jackhammered and poorly patched up after the repair of a cracked and leaking PVC pipe 3 feet below the concrete. “I cannot recommend Nielsen Painting highly enough. I hired them after experiencing what can only be described as a nightmare with a previous handyman who claimed he could paint my condo. He kept promising deadlines and pushing them back. When he finally said the job was “finished,” I was horrified. There were visible streaks on the walls, paint splatters everywhere ( including on my late mother’s small carpet, which they could have easily moved...and they stored random screws in her china cups.) Entire sections of walls were missed, and the wrong paint was used in several areas. I genuinely felt traumatized by that experience.

One example: My kitchen cabinets had been stained a cherry red by the builder using a product that appears to be from another country and may no longer even be legal in the U.S. due to extremely high VOC levels. When Nielsen painted them white, the stain bled through, turning the cabinets pink. The company painted them twice when they were first there. Months later, when the color seeped through again, the company didn’t disappear or make excuses. They immediately responded, brought in a paint manufacturer’s representative, identified a specialized product that could solve the problem, and repainted my cabinets again at no charge to me.

I am not a wealthy person. Their willingness to honor their work and protect my investment without hesitation and without additional cost meant more to me than I can express. In this modern world where companies and people often take shortcuts or duck out of responsibility, Nielsen Painting showed integrity, craftsmanship, and true customer care.

“I chose Geary for two different projects: once to replace some wood floorboards in our kitchen after a small flood, and again to make new flooring to match the existing flooring after we added a couple rooms to our house. I highly recommended them. They were able to identify the wood flooring originally used and then find comparable flooring in the same width, and sand and stain it to match. They did a great job on something many other flooring places told me was impossible. They also advised me NOT to refinish my floors again in a certain way and warned me of the possibility of wrecking them due to the depth of the wood (note that many floor guys would just go ahead and refinish them, even if it runs the risk of the wood flooring becoming to thin, buckling with the new color, and having to be replaced).

Tad helped me coordinate my project and advised me on what was and wasn't possible. Carlos and Rudlopho did the hard work, installing, sanding, and staining. All three were excellent.

So, long story short: if you have wood floors and need to have a part of them repaired or replace, use Geary!“
