6844 Franklin Blvd, Sacramento“Updated for 2024! My family has now been taking animals to this facility for years - since 2014! When we first started coming here, we primarily had Dr. Chapman as our vet, but over time we saw Dr. Sangani more and more. A word of advice: the older reviews for the Dr. that talk about rudeness or lack of bedside manner weren't dishonest - /then/. Since 2014 Dr. Sangani has become our *favorite vet*, his manner of speaking and explaining things to people has become so much more welcoming, understanding and patient. Over the years we have fostered a good relationship with him and the wonderful front staff people. It's a relief to know that we can call at 8am and be able to speak to someone on the phone, get advice on what's going on with our pet, and be told to bring them in for help(usually the same week!). If they can't help us, they will refer us to someone who can, but 9/10 times we've been able to have a quick visit, get an antibiotic shot/anti-inflammatory and be on our way. Dr. Sangani also does X-rays and surgeries on site, and he helped us when our older car broke his hind leg years ago. We came out of that with a tri-pawd cat who lived another year or two, happily stumping around on three legs, before the meds he got every week could no longer keep up with his hyperthyroidism. We have had to make the decision to let multiple animals go due to illness over the years, and every time the staff here are kind and considerate - I feel like they love our animals almost as much as we do, and really see the pain we always have in making that final decision. Our house is full of a bunch of softies, so we have a habit of rescuing strays. Because we bring in so many in-need animals ourselves, we understand why Dr. Sangani does the trips he does. Be aware that for at least a couple weeks (sometimes more) a year, the hospital will be closed as Dr. Sangani does missions (a la Doctors without Borders) to help animals in less privileged countries. I am proud to be supporting a vet clinic that does things like that. 5/5 stars for us, and our 9 furry felines (+1 stray we are fostering at the moment!).“
“Kayla is amazing, she quickly and efficiently helped us get all the essentials down when we got our lovely little rescue pup. Her recall training is especially wonderful: It’s easy, fun for both you and the pup, and results in the most reliable recall we could ever hope for. It’s saved us from having a skunked dog more than once, and been a great resource when socialising! I can’t recommend her highly enough!“

4417 Baron Ave, Sacramento“American River Canine saved our family! About two years ago, my fiancé and I adopted a German Shepherd named Bear from the Sacramento SPCA. Bear was, and still is, an energetic, fun-loving, sweet dog. He just wasn't friendly towards other dogs or cats. Bear would growl, lunge, and chase any other animal near him. Walking him just around the block was challenging because he would tug and try to go after other dogs and cats. It turns out that what we were interpreting as aggression, was actually pent-up excitement in Bear. Deric's extensive knowledge in psychology along with his years of experience working with dogs opened our eyes on how to better understand and communicate with Bear. Deric helped us work with Bear on commands like "place", "here", "out" and "leave it". Working on these commands seemed more like training for us humans, but it all paid off in the end. Nowadays, Bear is a much more obedient dog who can be in the same room as our cats without growling or trying to run after them. Walking Bear is no longer a scary activity. It is something we can do with ease. We even take Bear out in public places like Home Depot, PetSmart, and Iron Horse. We are also in the process of adopting another dog for our family too! Both Bear and our newer dog attend Deric's doggie daycare, The Nature of Dogs, twice a week. I can honestly say that if it weren't for Deric, we probably would have rehomed Bear. I am forever grateful for the dedication and insight Deric has given to our family. I would 100% highly recommend American River Canine for any of your canine training needs!“

7921 Archer Ave, Fair Oaks“Vicki took a golden retriever and a dachshund at a moment's notice when their dad had to go to the hospital for an indeterminate stay. Her calm and caring presence was just what the dogs needed. We very much appreciate her "stepping up" for strangers who just called her out of the blue.“
“They are wonderful. I had 2 small dogs I took through the training. Both older dogs. They passed. You can take them after you pass the first level over & over to get yourself comfortable.“

7909 Walerga Rd, Antelope“My wife and I adopted a Frenchie rescue. He is such a loving little guy until somebody new comes into our house and then he goes into protective mode…barking and being aggressive. We sought training and by God’s grace found Don! We have only been through five lessons and it has been life changing! Things we thought were impossible Don trained US to solve in a very short period! It has been transformative! He only uses leash and voice commands! It does take commitment and practice but if you love your dog, DON CAN MAKE THINGS WORK! it has made an incredible difference. My wife and I are SO much more comfortable and confident! Don teaches YOU how to train. He is an amazing coach…patient yet very focused. We still have about 5 lessons left and we couldn’t be more excited about our future with our little Frenchie, Benny! IF you want results with a humane approach (no treats or shock collars) DON IS EXCEPTIONAL!!! I know this might sound like a “commercial” but couldn’t be happier!!“

120 Blue Ravine Rd, Folsom“I brought my two great danes in for an evaluation to see if they behave well enough to start coming to Folsom Dog Resort for daycare and boarding. They staff leading up to the visit was very helpful and helped me set up my dogs accounts. When arriving there, it was really busy. About 15- 20 dogs checking in. They had a great system in place to get the dog checked in and brought back fast. My dogs had a great time and did good while there. We will be using Folsom Dog Resort with great confidence knowing our fur babies are having fun and well taken care of.“

5524 Elvas Ave # A, Sacramento“I recommend ‘Midtown Mutts’ swiftly and without hesitation to anyone who asks me about dog care. I have been using them exclusively for the past year. My pup was 6 months when I started using them for dog sitting. Honestly, I have nothing but good things to say about them.
They’re knowledgeable, professional, responsible, and caring. The reports at the end of each visit are phenomenal. Every sitter I have met has been approachable and respectful. For some reason they’re all photographers and professional dog trainers too!? I don’t know how they do it. They know all my boys quirks and know when something is off. Plus, they’re super accommodating with any of my request and when there are changes in his routine.
It’s super rare to get your moneys worth nowadays but with Midtown Mutts I feel that it’s worth every cent. I truly don’t know what my pup and I would do without them! Like seriously, I wanted to move to a different town and they were a huge factor in my decision to stay. If I had moved I would have been outside their service area. I couldn’t do it ?
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone at Midtown Mutts that makes this level of excellence possible!“

I like that they have babies but also try to find homes for surrendered birds and they also offer boarding, which is awesome! If in the future I decide to buy, I'm coming here.“

12355 Quicksilver Dr Building 2, Rancho Cordova“Highly Recommend Fidelis K9!
Our Cane Corso, Raven, has been attending classes at Fidelis K9 since November 2025, and the experience has been outstanding. The trainers are patient, kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in the success and well-being of every dog they work with. Their focus is always on what is best for the dog while helping owners develop the skills and confidence needed to continue that success at home.
One thing that stands out is the level of support. The trainers are approachable, responsive, and always willing to answer questions or provide guidance when challenges arise. The new owner, Shon, has also created an environment where feedback—both positive and constructive—is welcomed and valued, which speaks volumes about his commitment to continuous improvement.
Training a dog requires consistency and effort from both the dog and the owner. Fidelis K9 provides the tools, education, and support necessary to be successful, but owners must be willing to put in the work as well. In our experience, the team has consistently demonstrated professionalism, patience, and a genuine passion for helping dogs and their families succeed.
Raven has grown tremendously in her obedience, confidence, and socialization skills through this program. As an added bonus, we’ve learned a lot about our own behaviors and how they influence our dog’s success.
I would confidently recommend Fidelis K9 to anyone looking for quality training, guidance, and support in raising a well-trained, confident, and socialized dog. We are grateful to be part of the Fidelis K9 family and look forward to continuing our journey with them. ?“

“If you’re looking for a professional, caring and super knowledge trainer Unleash the Beast is the best! We had a super energetic toy poodle, 4 months old with no concept of commands. We also did not want to use treats so we signed up to the board and train and could not be happier with the results. I got pictures of our pup every day for 5 weeks, FaceTimes and also at home visits and training sessions to help us sustain the behaviour. I feel so blessed to have found this business and am pretty sure we will continue to work with Unleash the Beast throughout my dogs life - this training will improve our quality of life with our pup. I would do it again and again, money well spent! Thank you!!“
