DON'T BUY!!! Spent 20K updating to their new system to improve our Drive-thru performance. Our old system had a 'push and hold to talk' button to allow comms between staff when needed. Take your finger off button and the comms channel closes - all good. Was told HME new system had the same. Turns out their new system now has 'tap to open/close the staff comms channel' button, meaning staff simply tap the button then spend the rest of the shift chatting, when management is not in the store of course. Now they are so distracted that customers are not getting acknowledged in as timely a manner both in-house and in DT. Entire customer service has been negatively affected....read full review

As a former employee, I can say that on the surface, HME was a wonderful place to work. The most employee centric company I have worked for to date. But the shine starts to come off when they happen to hire management team members that are more of a liability to the company than a benefit. Out the window goes most if not all of the companies "core values", out the door goes the workers on the floor, all in favor of keeping a management position filled. Once they have a poor leader in position, their main concern is not losing them, no matter how much they push against the grain of what the company culture is sold as to everyone. My friend is working here he always talks about the company that it is the hardware related company and people have to keep more insurance on them because there will be in so much work related to hardware stuff but until I understand it is also one of the good company in Carlsbad
