He patiently showed me the different types of hand controls, how they work, and answered my questions. I then went on a driving lesson with Derrick in his car that is outfitted with hand controls. This initial visit was very thorough, taking about two hours. I now have a sense of how hand controls work, the various options available, and what will and won’t work for me. I booked 3 adult lessons and the day of test review/assistance. Phillip, the driving instructor is patient and thorough. He knows how to teach and has very in-depth knowledge about driving in the Bay Area. He makes sure that you are skilled and confident before taking the test. He gave good tips ans I was able to pass the 1st time. Not only does he make sure you are ready for the test day, he also makes sure that you are comfortable to drive beyond the test (freeway, parking, backing, driving, etc).
