About John Muir Health/UCSF Health Berkeley Outpatient Center
The John Muir Health/UCSF Health Berkeley Outpatient Center provides a mixed experience for its patients. While some staff members exhibit excellent care, kindness, and bedside manners, others may come across as abrupt and insensitive. The facility's ability to provide empathetic care and find solutions for patients is a notable strength, particularly for those dealing with challenging health issues. The staff is generally friendly, and the process of seeing a doctor and filling out paperwork is smooth. Patients have praised the outstanding radiologist and the efficient, caring staff. The scheduler was able to accommodate a patient's need for a second mammogram and an ultrasound right away. The technicians have been praised for their clear explanations and ensuring patients understand the procedures. Overall, the facility offers a positive experience for patients, with a focus on providing compassionate and efficient care.
I came for an xray and was pleasantly surprised by the speed and curtesy of staff. That said, on the way out I scraped the side of my Ford explorer. The parking entrance/exit is down a windy and narrow lane with columns making it even less narrow. The parking people need to wrap the columns to minimize damage to vehicles. I would also prefer a warning to not enter with a larger vehicle.
UCSF Laboratory at the Berkeley Cancer Center highly recommended. Dealing with health challenges is never easy, but the phlebotomy team here makes every visit significantly better.
A special thank you to Michelle and Lee, who are absolute standouts. They are not only incredibly skilled and efficient but also bring a level of genuine kindness and calm to the room that is hard to find. They make the process quick and painless every single time.
The entire phlebotomist team is professional, compassionate, and truly dedicated to patient care. If you have to have labs done, this is the best team to see. Thank you all for the wonderful work you do!
Dr Abe and staff were very professional and still have empathy in this modern age. We traveled for 2 days to see her after our local Cancer Center gave us the run around for 8 months!
