I just called today and found out North of the river veterinarian hospital is closed. I know there is mixed reviews, but I was very happy and satisfied, not only with Dr. Virga, but his staff as well. I had no problems with any of their personalities, because they were who they are not who I wanted them to be. The most important thing to me was the care they gave our family members. I considered the care second to none and on top of that their pricing was very reasonable. They didn't try to take advantage of people who were desperate to get their pets healthy. Can somebody tell me another veterinarian in town that gives excellent care and does not take advantage of pet owners outrageous, and unnecessary costs? I'll wait.
My regular vet no longer has a surgeon so they referred me to this vet to neuter my newly adopted 1 year old boy.I dropped him off early and they gave him fluids, a chip, and vaccinations as well as the neuter. The office was super busy at drop off and pick up, but staff remained calm, nice and helpful.My boy has major separation anxiety and I wish they got to him first and I had a 1.5 hour drive to get there and hang around for 7 hours.
Very professional staff, polite, caring and respectful. They go out of there way to help you with ur animal (s) seeing that you may be in a stressful state. The vet techs keep you inform while you’re waiting. The Doc vet is also caring. He let our doggies lick him on the face. He speaks the truth even if you don’t wish to hear your doggies are overweight. Their prices are reasonable, especially when I checked on other prices. I recommend North of the Rivers in Bakersfield.
