Knockout Plumbing, LLC
“Sometimes the best deal isn’t the lowest price.
We recently returned home after five weeks on the road to discover our water heater had failed. Wet garage floor, no hot water — exactly the kind of welcome-home present everyone hopes for.
We did what seemed like the obvious thing and started with Home Depot. We scheduled an appointment with their contractor, waited for the call, and eventually learned that part of the job needed to be handled by another subcontractor. We were given a number to call, left a voicemail...and 48 hours later, we’re still waiting for that call back.
Here’s one of my personal rules: I don’t chase people down for the privilege of giving them my money.
So at about 7 PM, I called Knockout Plumbing LLC
They answered the phone. They scheduled us for the next day. Their technician actually arrived early, took the time to look at our situation, and walked us through several options — from a basic replacement to tankless to the Rheem Marathon we ultimately chose. No rush, no hard sell, just information and answers to our questions.
During the process, he also tested our 10+ year-old water softener and explained its condition, expected lifespan, and what eventually could happen as these systems age. Again, no scare tactics and no “you need to replace this TODAY.” We decided it made sense to replace it while everything was already being done.
By the end of the same day, our failed water heater and old softener were gone, and we had a new 50-gallon Rheem Marathon and softener installed and running.
Were they the cheapest option?
Probably not.
Did I shop five different companies trying to find out?
Nope.
Because price and value aren’t always the same thing.
My time has value. Answering the phone has value. Showing up when you say you will has value. Taking the time to explain options has value. Having quality equipment available has value. Finishing the entire job immediately has value. And knowing I have a company I can actually reach if there’s a problem afterward has value.
Someone with more time than urgency may absolutely want to collect several quotes, and might get the job done for less. Nothing wrong with that.
For us, Knockout delivered exactly what we value.
Less than 24 hours after that first evening phone call, a problem we really didn’t want to deal with...wasn’t a problem anymore.
That’s worth something.
Would we recommend Knockout Plumbing? Absolutely.
And meanwhile, we’re still waiting for that other guy to return our call. 😂
Loving Life. Having Fun. And now having hot water, too. See less”
