As a human, one hopes to never have to deal with the diagnosis of cancer. As a healthcare professional, when the diagnosis hits close to home, as it did with my aunt's case a couple of months ago, you pray that you find an oncologist who is not only knowledgeable but also kind and empathetic.
Cancer, in and of itself, can be a very scary diagnosis. But in my aunt's case, she needed extensive partial jaw and palate removal surgery as part of her treatment plan - the news of which was exceedingly devastating to my family. I want to express my deepest gratitude for the care and service we received at Banner UMC. Dr. Z. Aydi is, without question, our personal hero. My wife’s breast cancer was never treated as a routine case. Dr. Aydi approached it as if she were preparing for the worst-case scenario, and as terrifying as that was for us, it made us feel protected. This was all new territory, and her presence grounded us.
