The caretakers are wonderful at taking care of this cemetery despite the homeless community downtown. There are many community volunteers who come and help keep things tidy. A wealth of our state's history is located within the fencing.
Remembering family and friends are important for me. Municipality of Anchorage does a good job maintaining the grounds. I'd like to see our United States of America flag flown over the veterans area graves.
Klatt cemetery is spacious with picturesque views, but Anchorage Memorial is definitely the bougie-er of the two. Being a born and raised Alaskan, I've been attending burials here, ever since I could remember. The plots here do not run cheap and many spots have already been claimed. I noticed members of the Catholic faith have the most elite spots near the front areas of the cemetery, my in-laws included. We don't have to walk far to visit them. We love privilege. Like all cemetery's, people steal stuff sometimes. Super ghetto and like super bad karma, but that shouldn't deter you from showing love. It's the thought that counts.
