I was nervous about leaving my timid dog overnight for surgery, but they gave me updates during the entire process and assured me she was doing great and they were taking things slow with her to ensure she was comfortable. “I recently returned to KVC to get a second opinion on allergies in a French Bulldog. Dr Chris was kind, clear and precise. He knew what and how to treat my dog. The other vet offered a confusing array of options and was unsure if I was dealing w a food/ or environmental allergy. Years back I had another issue w/ a Frenchie. I was terrified. Dr Paul was just as kind, calm and precise. That issue was vertigo. He diagnosed and treated it in one visit. I left KVC because of their location. However, I trust their experience and knowledge. I suspect I will be returning there for the rest of my veterinary needs. The knowledge and experience is worth the drive. I hope neither Doc ever retires.“

“I was out of town and my dog became ill at her kennel. Paw Health turned away my dog because she was not deemed “critical” even though she had a bad fever and couldn’t stand. When I told the vet tech at Petsmart that she was ill and had been turned away they got her in for a same day appointment and worked with the wonderful owner of the kennel. Diagnosed with Lymes and my dog is on the mend. Thankful for the quick action by the kennel and the staff at PetSmart!“

“Recently moved back to the area and cannot be happier with VCA. We had tried another clinic we had used 5 years ago that was “fear-free certified” on paper, but now no longer genuinely puts fear free practices in place. We were so discouraged and disappointed… but then we found VCA!

While VCA does not appear to be fear-free certified, they do consistently use fear-free practices. Our scared puppy, who hid and cowered at the prior vet for the entire appointment was a happy, wiggly boy by the time he left VCA.

If you want a vet in Wausau that will treat you and your pets with respect, I cannot recommend VCA enough! If you have a dog that is timid and needs a patient vet, give them a try. We’re so glad we did!“

“Saved my dog's life. I went in for a second opinion, and they treated my dog without requiring risky surgery that my primary vet had insisted on. In person I had an excellent experience with the friendly and professional staff and doctors. I would give them five stars, but I did have one issue with the meds. Not all the prescribed meds were in the bag when I got home, and they made me repurchase the missing ones. I got a little resistance on the phone when I called about that problem. So overall, a great place, but double check the meds before you leave (unfortunately that's tricky in such an emotional moment as a pet health emergency).“
