I have been dragging my feet finding a hairstylist after 5+ years living in Wausau. Finding Heather & Opal n Ice salon was almost TOO EASY looking back now. I wanted all over darkening of my hair color from mousy brown to more dark chocolate as well as some SERIOUS dead-end trimming. The final color and hair chop turned out FANTASTIC!!! Heather's salon is super relaxing and she is a great listener & communicator about all things hair & life. I am already looking forward to seeing her more regularly for 8 week trims. I booked through an app on her site & the booking process was super easy and her availability even better! Price point super fair and all my services didn't take all morning like I sometimes fear! No complaints at all. 5/5 stars for Heather!

I booked an appointment for a baylayage, I started by saying I do not want to be blonde or look blonde. I described how I like when we darken my roots just a smidge darker than my natural and bring that down, bring up the lighter pieces that have grown out, and tone it a cool/mushroom brown. I said I understand that bleach needs to be used to bring up the lighter pieces again to add the dimension, but was repeating I want to be a rich, cool, brown with dimension and keep it low maintence. I emphasized that I do not want blonde because it turns so brassy and I've been loving the ashy brown I have had to my hair the past year and a half.
What happened at the appointment is my roots were darkened as requested, but then the rest of the darkness was added to the bottom half of my head, while the whole top half or 3/4 of my head was completely bleached. At the end, the top of my head just had dark roots and was blonde. There was no dimension or easy way for it to grow out with such a stark line from my roots to the blonde. We did put a darker toner over it after to try to make it not so blonde. At first it looked ok, but before I even was able to wash it, it became quite brassy at the top of my head. The bottom of the blonde part is cool, while the top is so warm, and then the bottom half of my head is so dark. There is no dimension, not an easy or low maintence grow out at all, and is blonde and was not a baylayage at all as my whole head was in foils.
I appreciated that she put the darker toner on it prior to the end of the appointment, but then I was given her card to reach out if I wanted anything else changed or decided I didn't like it, and to make my next appointment. I reached out to her via the number on the card within the week, but never received a response. I love getting the baylayage so I can just tone it every few months and keep it looking fresh, but now I have to do a whole color correction to give my hair dimension and break up all the blonde and bleach that was used on my hair. My hair was so soft and healthy before and now it is so dry and fried from all the bleach. I made the appointment because of all the positive reviews but unfortunately that was not my experience.

Heather is the only person I let touch my hair. Her spot is super cozy and comfy. She even plays soothing music while shampooing and rinsing! I cannot recommend her enough!!

Hard to find. I arrived 15 min early for my appointment, door was locked, rang door bell, waiting 15 mins, tried calling, rang door bell again. Waste of time. Don't bother using this place. No one ever came to the door so all I did was waste my time. Take your money somewhere else. I ended up canceling my appointment and going else where.Bad business ethics
