“I had a number of issues that needed to be addressed. I worked with Ben Graf in identifying my concerns and Ben came up with a comprehensive set of solutions. The bellwether event was the heaving of the footings supporting the sunroom porch. In the wintertime the footings would heave causing the drywall in the sunroom to crack. The solution for this was to replace the footings with helical piers.
Other projects included replacing the deck using composite materials and aluminum rails;
installation of new retaining walls, and landscaping, including concrete curb edging, plantings, step stones, boulder outcroppings,
weed-barrier fabric & decorative rock;
removal & disposal of existing backyard concrete patio & installation of designed paver patio;
removal & disposal of existing concrete front walk and installation of designed paver sidewalk; removal & disposal of existing asphalt driveway and installation of new asphalt driveway;
enhancements to front porch;
installation of low-voltage, LED lighting system for perimeter landscaping & deck;
installation of 5 underground drain systems for existing downspouts;
installation of substantial french drain system for deck area. The french drain turned into a much more significant endeavor as we discovered a natural spring under my house. The solution was to double the depth of the base course and install a PVC weeping system.
