We had a great experience doing one-on-one training with Jennifer for our dog who has anxiety and reactivity. After struggling for months to find a trainer due to either receiving advice we weren't comfortable with (punishment-based) or just being ghosted, it was a huge relief to find someone who communicated clearly about availability, responded directly to our specific concerns, and who could teach us how to teach our dog in an effective and compassionate way. We had such a wonderful experience working with our trainer, Jennifer in our home and community with our dog-reactive pup. Our training was affordable and just what we had been looking for and Jennifer met us right where we were at with our dog. She set us up for success with a training plan and goals to help us when we take our dog for walks, bring her into public places and when she in general sees other dogs. Our pup has a long way to go, but it is thanks to Jennifer that we feel confident that she will get more comfortable in situations that have given us grief in the past. I had a really positive experience bringing in my new puppy. Chris made sure to ask everyone every week if there were new things that came up for us that needed work, and she offered really good advice on ways to problem solve. She also reminded us to focus on the things that our pups are doing well and not focus on all of the things that need additional work, since puppy blues are a real thing! I felt like I was building a team with my puppy and that I was being trained as well. I am going back for the next class to keep working on having a well mannered dog. I would recommend Happy Tails to anyone who has a puppy!
