They do not ever answer the phone or respond to emails. I have tried many times to get a few the people I work with connected to them with 0 luck.

I was a member of the Grand Avenue Club. I was referred to The Grand Avenue Club by my DVR Counselor. I did volunteer work and I understand that I must go through the process before I can do Transitional Employment. I was removed from one of the TE jobs as a clerical worker in the Medical Records department and wasn't given another chance. I was a little bit upset, and it wasn't right. I had been doing temporary work my whole entire life. I never got steady employment. The jobs aren't promising. I wasn't satisfied with the program. I didn't like the way I was being spoken to and approached by the member(s). That made me uncomfortable. I decided not to come to The Grand Avenue Club anymore.

This is a non profit organization that fights the stigma of mental illness. Hello I'm a member of this club. The people there are my family and my second home. We are always looking for new members.

This is a non profit organization for people who have mental illness. It doesn't matter if you have been struggling for years or a short period of time. Grand Avenue Club is the place that will always be there for you. It isn't a place where we have therapy groups but we do help each other out when there is a need. We work together to keep everyone healthy, doing things such as yoga, meditation, advocacy, and other more subtle ways. It's hard in the beginning because you come into a large building with a bunch of people that you don't know. But everyone is very friendly and helpful and you make friends quickly. You can find job training, learning help, you can possibly make an entrance into the workplace with GAC's help. There are so man benefits to being a member that I can't list them right now. The best thing to do would be to go to the website www.grandavenueclub.org Click on Become A Member them fill out the online application and wait for someone to call you back. If you don't hear in a week, call 414-727-3364 and ask for Membership. We really want to see you here!
