About Froedtert & Medical College-Wi
Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin is a well-regarded medical center that provides a range of healthcare services with a focus on quality and education. Many patients appreciate the hospital's modern, clean, and organized facilities, describing it as a safe and efficient environment for both emergency and scheduled care. The staff, including nurses, doctors, and CNAs, are generally seen as knowledgeable, caring, and dedicated, with some patients highlighting the excellence of specialists like Dr. Johnson in nephrology and the professionalism of staff involved in maternity care. Patients who delivered babies praise the outstanding care from the labor and delivery team, noting that staff made them feel confident and comfortable despite pregnancy complications. The hospital's role as a teaching institution means that medical students and residents are often involved in patient care, which some find reassuring as they contribute to training future doctors. However, experiences are mixed. Some patients report long wait times, especially in the emergency department, and feel they were not always taken seriously, sometimes due to their circumstances or appearance. Concerns about communication and honesty from certain healthcare providers have also been expressed, with one reviewer mentioning a doctor’s false statement about aspirin, which raised questions about trust. There are also reports of inconsistent care quality, particularly in certain floors, with some staff members being less attentive or experienced. Despite these issues, many still consider Froedtert a good place for healthcare, especially compared to other facilities. Overall, the hospital is viewed as a reputable, organized, and trusted institution that strives to provide high-quality patient care while serving as a vital training ground for future healthcare professionals.
It’s a great institution and great care. However, I had the worst experience last year Dec 2015. I had an appointment with one of the physicians at Froedtert Forest home Avenue, Dr Wilcox. I explained my situation, that I was diabetic and was on medication Trulicity and Jadiance. We discussed at length and he recommended we change the medication to mounjaro (more potent) and metformin. He also added some cholesterol and blood pressure medication. In a few days I realized the metformin was bad for me. I was having diarrhea. I contacted him after a week or so. I had isolated that it was metformin by taking the drugs one at a time and the moment I took metformin, diarrhea...read full review
I ended up in the ER last Tues the 11th of November, I was a little sicker than I thought and ended up staying. I did receive excellent care in the ER. I was in the room on the second floor until Friday received very good care there also constantly checking on my vitals and everything. Although I guess I have a lot of Caucasian in me I was told. The reason I'm giving three stars is because I had a doctor on duty lie to me about aspirin. He insisted I take that blood thinning shot he wanted me to have. He actually told me there were no studies that prove aspirin help prevent blood clots. I asked him if he was going to let me have aspirin and he said no . So I told him...read full review
First i. Don't usually go to the emergency room. I was transferred to froedtert hospital from an urgent care.due to possibly needing surgery,; so need to see a specialist im told. Waiting 7 plus hours, literally to see a docror. It's now 2 am. SMH.
Sitting through 2.5 shifts. And counting bc im still here. They retake vitals evey 2 hrs but you are not put in a room so u do not see a doctor. May be they are short docs. You should be told the wait time up front before check in. This hospital need to do better with time management of I guess low priority patients. Once you are here you don't want to start over at another hospital. People are sleeping in the lobby. Ive...read full review
