Forest Home Cemetery is a non-profit institution that welcomes people from all faiths and cultural backgrounds since its inception in 1850. This active cemetery and historical site spans 200 acres, offering a peaceful oasis with gardens, historic mausolea, architecture, and ancient trees. Visitors can take guided tours along footpaths designed by Increase A. Lapham, which lead them through the final resting place of Milwaukee's most illustrious and notable citizens. The cemetery hosts various public events throughout the year, including historical tours and cultural celebrations. The office and maintenance staff are amazing, providing excellent assistance to visitors. The cemetery is open from 8am to approximately 7pm, allowing visitors to explore the beautiful grounds by walking or driving through. Guests are asked to respect the cemetery's sacred nature.
