About Forest Home Cemetery & Arboretum
Forest Home Cemetery is a non-profit institution that welcomes people from all faiths and cultural backgrounds since its inception in 1850. This active cemetery and historical site spans 200 acres, offering a peaceful oasis with gardens, historic mausolea, architecture, and ancient trees. Visitors can take guided tours along footpaths designed by Increase A. Lapham, which lead them through the final resting place of Milwaukee's most illustrious and notable citizens. The cemetery hosts various public events throughout the year, including historical tours and cultural celebrations. The office and maintenance staff are amazing, providing excellent assistance to visitors. The cemetery is open from 8am to approximately 7pm, allowing visitors to explore the beautiful grounds by walking or driving through. Guests are asked to respect the cemetery's sacred nature. We bought tickets for a walking tour of Forest Home Cemetery. Tickets are 10.00 and worth every penny. There are all different themes. We went Woman of influence. We received book with a map of the grounds and the location of some of the most interesting residents from Milwaukee’s founders, beer barons and pioneers.
Very pretty cemetery. We took over six hundred photos. Beautiful statue's. Nicely kept up.
The office and maintenance staff here are amazing! My car broke down in the cemetery. Everyone was extremely helpful and went above and beyond trying to get us back on the road. Ultimately we had to get a tow truck which they helped us out with that too, thanks for the recommendation Jonathan! They even gave us water and checked in us while we waited.
