Kali / escrima are Really unique martial arts. I’m stoked to have the opportunity to learn . Stick and knife fighting is another level of martial arts that can be useful to know if trench warfare ever happens again.
MKG Madison is a fantastic gym. Best instruction in the city and incredibly friendly people. Guro Josh is super knowledgeable and Coach Mark taught a great grappling course! Very self defense oriented, but still always made it fun to train.
Take with a grain of salt as I only went for the beginner's kickboxing lesson. The instructor, Josh, is super friendly and a good instructor. The gym is nice. However, a friend of mine tells me the price is very high for what they offer. So before you commit here, make sure you compare different gyms. Although, if you have a lot of disposable money and want a very welcoming instructor, then MKG is definitely worth checking out.
