    Very unhappy about the charge for my haircut. I did not have a shampoo, as I had washed it in the a,m, had a dry haircut, no styling or product, as it was so windy it wouldn’t have helped. . . Simple layering and cleaning up edges. Stylist charged $60.00. When I got home my daughter said, “I thought you were getting a haircut.” Do stylist set their prices or is it a shop rate? Basic haircut, $42.00 is posted. She did nothing extra or even the basics.

    My daughter and I recently had an unfortunate experience during a hair lightening process. From the beginning, it was evident that either the assigned stylist was a novice or one with little trust from management, creating an uneasy atmosphere. There was no communication to us as to why the manager was so heavily involved.The stylist sought the manager’s assistance in developing an approach for my daughter’s hair, which had faded color we were aiming to correct. A test strand was performed, indicating a potential for color lift.The manager communicated that the plan involved chunky highlights to retain some existing color, aligning with the reference photo provided. However, during the 4.5-hour process, the stylist remained silent, leaving my daughter visibly uncomfortable. Observing the foiling process, I noticed the stylist wasn’t leaving any hair out, though my limited knowledge left me uncertain about the procedure.When the manager stepped in to assist, discrepancies between the manager’s side and the stylist’s became apparent. The stylist, unable to explain, prompted me to seek the manager. While searching, the stylist claimed she wasn’t finished talking to me. Expressing concern about the lengthy foiling duration and integrity of my daughter’s hair, the stylist left and never returned. The manager attributed the variation to not understanding the stylist’s approach, despite the many check-ins.Attempting to voice my concerns, I learned the stylist was in tears, burdening me with unnecessary guilt. The final result deviated significantly from our request, with my daughter’s hair almost white, lacking natural roots and highlights – every strand had been foiled.This experience highlighted a severe lack of professionalism and communication. It appears the salon exploited my lack of knowledge about the hair-lightening process. Instead of placing blame on the stylist, the manager should have exercised better judgment—either by preventing the stylist from working on my daughter’s hair or by closely supervising throughout the entire process to guarantee the desired results.

    i’ve been to jcpenney twice, first time i did an up do hairstyle and it was beautiful!! however my second experience there wasn’t as pleasant as my first. i’m still quite upset that my whole fringe is dried out and also fell out :(

    I have been growing my hair out for about 7 months now. i wanted to start growing it long and have been stuck with an awkward stage for about a month and a half. I was in the area and wanted a haircut right then and didnt want to schedule out a week and a half. I was able to get in and within less than 40 minutes my whole mood was changed. i have had a horrible two weeks and this is exactly what i needed. i feel refreshed and confident again. Melissa was the one to give me my trim and i had such a great time. I had great conversation, received very kind compliment and left feeling 100% better then when i went in. THANK YOU MELISSA!
