About Wapato Park Off-Leash Dog Park
Wapato Park Off-Leash Dog Park is a spacious, fully fenced park in Tacoma, featuring both lower and upper playgrounds for dogs of all sizes. The park includes extensive trails through wooded areas and offers plenty of flat grassy space for play, chase, and fetch. Despite some rain, the grounds remain relatively dry. While parking can be limited, visitors may park nearby and walk over. The park has a covered kitchen shelter, with several tables and benches scattered around, including in the off-leash area. The playground, located near the waterfall, is a small area for children to play. Restrooms are available near the playground and community center, as well as by the 72nd Street parking lots. The dog park is described as a "chill, fenced" area, with both a large and small section. Visitors note that while the park provides dog waste bags and trash cans, not everyone picks up after their pets, which is unacceptable. The dog park is a popular destination, offering a friendly environment for socializing and training with distractions.
Awesome park, good hiking trail lots of dog trainers. Be careful more dogs and trainers can lead to more problems most of the time just practice good saftey precautions.
Note people take their kids and small dogs in the [big or all] dog and upper area.
Playground: Right in the middle of the picnic areas, makes for easy observation of little ones while enjoying the view of the lake and sitting at your picnic area.
Toilets: They try to keep up from vandalism and homeless residing in there. Is anywhere safe from the stench and messes of tweakers? There are 2 bathroom buildings along the lake walking path, on the east side in the main building, and on the south side facing S. 72nd St.
Dog-friendliness: 3 fenced off leash areas. Not everyone picks up after their pooch, which is unacceptable being there are bags and trash cans posted throughout all 3. Decent place to do socializing and training with distractions.

Love the fenced in dog park very big and the lil area to is bigger then most dog parks also there's a track u can walk around that's also fenced and with benches all around, a covered section lots of shade tho and more then one entrance well the big dog section has 4 I believe The lil one I believe we have a corgi/mix so haven't really been in the lil one, they both have water Spit its ( ? sorry, my phone cant spell anything right ) which is a bouns I think cz not every fenced park has running water and bowls for the dogs It is popular tho so go at the right time of day for u and bring dog bags if u go in the evening most of the time they don't replace them as much as...read full review
