Amazing experience! I came here after my vet recommended them for a fractured tooth for my pup. They were so kind and explained all my options and all possible pricing. I got to stay with my boy during the pre-med process and after the procedure while he was waking up, which was so so nice! 110% recommend going here for any pet dental stuff!! I’m really terrible with remembering names but the gals that were helping us were so sweet and patient, and were giving my pup loves the entire time. Thank you guys so much!!

I am very disappointed with the services here. They quoted me a price for a serious procedure and then did not perform the procedure, and not only charged me the full quote but charged me more then the quote. I feel cheated and wronged. I will not take my animals here again and will let others know of my experience.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Dr. Peterman is simply the BEST veterinarian my husband and I have ever encountered. I can't rave about our experience or her enough!
My husband and I brought in our 100 lb 7 year old mastiff mix (Odin) for a chipped tooth that potentially would need a root canal.
Inland NW Veterinary Dentistry & Oral Surgery was extremely transparent. They wrote up a quote with all the prices for the different possible services and/or procedures. They quoted us a range. I'll admit we both were a bit sticker shocked. But, after the whole experience/surgery was over I can honestly say I've never been more happy to give away my money.
Instead of a medical assistant or aid calling, Dr. Petermen herself called to update us after Odin's anesthesia had kicked in. First, she shared that Odin was responding well to anesthesia. She was so reassuring and empathetic. I was a complete nervous stressed out dog mom because Odin's never had anesthesia.
Next, Dr. Petersen told us what she had found after looking at his x-rays. She told us 3 of Odin's baby teeth would need to be extracted, that 2 of his back molars were displaying peridontitis and would need to have some antibiotic treatment, etc. and she had found a small mass on his lower lip that she wanted to extract and send out for a biopsy. She notified us that she was going to cut back Odin's lower gums due to gingivitis, which we had discussed in our original appointment. Then she recommended we hold off on a root canal and check back in a year or 18 months to make sure the tooth was remaining stable. *Applause* I've never been to a doctor or veterinarian who personally calls to update you and who isn't all about making more money. Since the root canal was going to be the most expensive procedure, we ended saving A LOT of money. While the tooth extraction and other procedures were not part of the original quote, the total price for the extra procedures was very reasonable. Additionally, Dr. Peterson and the staff were upfront about all costs and expenses before proceeding.
The big bonus was that due to Dr. Petersen's keen eye she found the small mass on Odin's lower lip that likely is not cancer, but still amazing that she noticed. Odin also got his teeth deep cleaned and polished and they look fantastic.
The vet assistant (I wish I could remember her name!) did an amazing job clipping back Odin's toenails. I'm very diligent and consistent about cutting his toenails, but she did an even better job! The whole surgery and cleaning time was super fast (total of about 3 hours).
After Odin's surgery, Dr. Petersen came out and shared the x-ray images as well as before and after photos with us. She talked us through the post-procedure care and wrote down recommendations for toothpaste and toothbrushes (I had asked about before Odin went in for surgery).
Dr. Petersen and the staff were wonderful--loving and sweet with our pup. They even brought in a blanket for him to lay down on after he got his shot before anesthesia. They were all animal lovers, good with people, transparent, empathetic, and efficient.
I'm amazed with the incredible medical care Inland NW Veterinary Dentistry & Oral Surgery is providing for Northern Idaho and our fur babies! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!

Just FYI: They come up as a low cost dental. They are very polite over the phone and are very happy to let you know that they “are not…in fact, we are more likely to be more expensive that a regular vet…”. I thank you for being so nice & honest!

We were referred by our veterinarian for multiple root canal procedures and could not be happier with the exceptional care and treatment our vizsla received. Dr. Kern and Nicole went above and beyond to make sure our (typically very anxious) pup was comfortable and calm during her entire visit, and we were so impressed with the technology and services they provided. Very knowledgeable, professional and compassionate. 10/10 recommend!

We took our 17 year old cat, Corky in to have what was left of his teeth extracted. He had a bad periodontal disease, and was getting injections for infections every 3/4 months. Our regular Vet was hesitant about surgery due to his age. Northwest brought in a "traveling" Anesthesiologist who specialized in older animals. Now, he's like a different cat. He's acting like he's a kitten. Plays with his "brother" constantly. Zoomies all over the house, running up and down the stairs. He's even gained some weight! The entire team was awesome! Would definitely take our other pets to Northwest should we ever need Specialized Dentistry.

I adopted a senior cat with stomatitis from SCRAPS. I took him to 3 vets with no solutions or resolution and one vet said I should put him down. Seeing my cat in pain, crying while eating, excessive drooling, avoiding me touching his face and just generally looking so sad- I was desperate to help him. I traveled 5 hours round trip to see this vet and it was the best decision I could've made. Post full- mouth extraction my cat no longer runs and hides when I bring out food. He has become more energetic, happy and best of all , cuddly. His eyes are now full of life and the misery is gone! He has gained weight. I couldn't be happier. The vet and staff are wonderful- specifically I worked with Dr Kern who was so caring and knowledgable! I cried happy tears when she told me there was hope for my kitty after being told over and over nothing could be done. She was so knowledgeable on this horrible disease. If your cat has stomatitis BOOK AN APPOINTMENT with this facility!

Both doctors and all the staff treated my kitten Ida like she was their office mascot. :) Who wouldn't? She was an adorable calico kitten with such misaligned/malaligned canine teeth when we walked in for the first visit, that the poor thing needed braces to get back to a functional bite. I spent a lot of time at the office during Ida's treatment; everyone was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. Within a few months, Ida went from a poor bite that caused her pain when opening her mouth and eating, to a happy kitten with an awesome, functional bite. I'm amazed at the difference, and I'm so glad that we went to this clinic. I can't recommend their services enough. A+ experience all the way around. If you need dental care for your pet, don't think twice - go to this clinic!
