Ocean Shores warning applies to Doctor's offices as well.. This is actually one of the only places I have run into where the customer service was not very friendly. Older receptionist who answers the phone does not have a very positive demeanor when she is client facing. When calling to make my eye exam, I was grilled about insurance. I know this city is poor, and the population is 70+ years old. But please don't treat me like an idiot. She demanded to have proof right away that my insurance covered eye exams. Thank goodness I am an insurance broker and immediately downloaded my benefits summary from my health plan. I had to do all my new patient paperwork and fax Linda/Lisa all this so she wouldn't cancel my appointment. I circled and highlighted everything in detail so she didn't accuse me of not being insured for an eye exam. If there was another eye clinic within 15 minutes, I would have moved on. No other business would get away with treating new patients this way. I had the appointment made 2 months out. I arrived 10 minutes early. I waited almost an hour to see the doctor. It was a 20-minute exam with eye dilation. I was done in about and 1.5 hours. Sheesh. There were 6 people in the waiting area. There is one doctor scrambling about, and they do not need any more patients. They are booked well in advance and treat you accordingly. No, they don't really want your business Yes, I get it. One doctor in town. Plan on a long wait for an appointment and exam. Plan on proving you have insurance to book your exam. Cha ching!! It's all about the money. We need more quality medical professionals in this aging city. We would also appreciate kindness and community.

You’ll have better luck getting in elsewhere. They’re only open 3 days a week here. I called 3 times to schedule an appointment, twice during specified business hours, and had to leave a message every single time with no call back, even after a week of waiting.

RE: Ocean Shores location: Getting a decent level of eye exam requires work on the part of the patient. The optometrist volunteers nothing to give insight to what is happening with your eyes. All he wants to do is the exam for a prescription and make sure you buy glasses there. My experience there was so frustrating. They all forget everything and don't keep good records on each patient. Walk in after three visits in a month and they don't know why you are there, haven't reviewed your file, don't call when they say they will, when you question why you haven't heard from them in 2 weeks they blame the place they say they were referring you to. They forgot to make the referral. Next time I need an eye exam I will make the trip to Olympia for it.

Fantastic service and selection. They are very knowledgeable and helpful in treating basic and complex vision issues. The frame selection was impressive.

The Ocean Shores branch of Hoquim vision center is absolutely HORRIBLE! Just left without service. I walk in 15 minutes early to my appointment that I've been waiting for for a month and a half. Both receptionists were completely without masks, no problem I couldn't care less. I was given the standard forms to fill out by receptionist #1. Having almost completed the forms I hear the receptionist gesturing for my attention. I look up and both receptionists have their masks on now and she asks me if I have a mask. I said yes I do but it's my car. Receptionist #1 then asked if I could go get it and put it on. I said sure no problem and I went to my car and did just that. I came back in wearing a mask about the time the doctor/Optometrist walks into the lobby without a mask no more than 3 feet away from me, then continues through the waiting lobby into the actual office. So now at this point I've seen 3 employees all with no masks. As I continue to wait receptionist #1 and #2 continue to wear their masks except receptionist #1 has her mask on but way under her nose, she then pulls her mask all the way down to speak with receptionist #2. I'm observing this thinking aint that some sh*t, I'm instructed to wear a mask when they don't have one on themselves and when the receptionist, receptionist #1 decides to suddenly wear hers, it's on improperly. So I'm stewing a bit at this point thinking should I say something or not. The principle and hypocrisy won, I said something. In the nicest but most straight to the point way I knew how I said pretty much what I just wrote above. I'm biting my tongue here I said, neither of you were wearing a mask when I came in, when you handed my forms to fill out through the partition you weren't and now when you do it's on way under your nose. The optometrist then comes out like a raging lunatic and being super aggressive telling me "that's their policy"! I ask the optometrist what are you even talking about, these two didn't have masks on when I walked in and for that matter you yourself didn't have a mask on! he then tells me "well I had one, but it was in my pocket". I then said "oh well, it's YOUR policy! I continue I have no problem wearing a mask but you 3 seem to! Then the optometrist says if I don't like it I can leave, with a F Off that's just what I did. So now I have to make another appointment and likely another long wait. The audacity of this clinic and the way they treat their customers is beyond unreal. I called back and told them it would be best to not charge my insurance company one single penny for an office visit and that I'd be filing with the CDC. Terrible experience at Ocean Shores vision clinic.
