First Step Pediatric Therapy

I approached Karissa for my 8yso autistic child based on the high reviews by other parents. And now I became one of them! Karissa is always patient and caring. She is also creative and flexible about her approach. My child had fun and has learned so much ball skills. Now he is ready for more adaptive sport programs. I would highly recommend Karissa without reservations.

I couldn’t recommend Karissa enough. My 3M old had a misshapen head and I suspected torticollis might be the reason. All the pediatric PT’s my pediatrician referred me to were booked for months due to being short staffed. Torticollis is best resolved without a helmet if you start before 4M so I was in a rush to get an appointment asap. Luckily I found Karissa and first Step - they had just opened recently and there were very few reviews but I’m glad I took a chance. Karissa is a wonderful and patient therapist. My baby came to her first when she was less then 6 months old for a possible Torticollis. She was small for her age and as a first-time parent, the idea of physio therapy for a baby was worrisome. However, the ambience at First Step , specifically, Karissa's treatment of my baby and readiness to respond to any and all questions was very helpful in calming all anxieties. My daughter has loved these visits, is thriving and has graduated PT- with a cool certificate to prove it. I would recommend Karissa to parents seeking great PT support for their precious children.
