“I went with my partner to The Scotch Pine barbershop and we booked an appointment with Kojak Harford, one of the co-owners. The shop itself is small and cozy, and Kojak was super friendly and attentive. He also acknowledged me being there and had a friendly chat, which made the whole experience feel even more welcoming for both of us. “Old style place, lively conversations while I was there (random stuff, like one guy was fixing his boat, and someone else was enthusiastically talking about the area museums with discounts for retirees that he goes to). Haircut was fine, although I just needed a trim. I did see folks who needed fancier cuts, and Chris did a good job. You can’t reserve online… At this place you drop by, sign up for a time, then come back at the time you agreed on. There are coffee places really nearby if you have to wait.“

My daughter wanted a particular hairstyle that is trendy but I was unsure if it was worth the cost. Kylie Rose messaged me back with up-front information about colors, costs, tips for making it last, and willingness to give a consultation on the same day as doing that service, since we live so far away. I was appreciative of her prompt response, realistic cost estimate, and willingness to accommodate our other needs, as well. These are all valuable traits when you're choosing a stylist.“

“I moved to Kirkland about 5 years ago and immediately missed my barber. I tried to commute an hour to my old barber but driving in this area is torturous. I wanted a competent local barber who communicated well. A comfortable environment would be icing for me. I went to a few different shops around the area and could not find a good match. Eventually, I came across TOC via Google Maps and scheduled the "first available" barber at my convenience. I got to the shop and Jeff was my barber. It's been about 4 years since then and I could not be happier. Jeff is an excellent barber, reliable, reasonable, and is easy to communicate with. If I don't like any part of a cut, I say something and it gets fixed. No sweat from Jeff and no sweat from me. It is our responsibility as the customer to get the product we want. TOC is a great barbershop and an important part of our marina community. Do yourself a favor and schedule a cut at TOC. You won't regret it. P.S. Ignore the hateful people who give 1 star reviews because they are petty individuals. Anytime you see a 1 star review longer than a few sentences, check that person's review history. I bet they constantly complain. I would even say it is more likely that they are unsatisfied in life and it has nothing to do with the business. Hateful people that only give 1 star reviews are not helping customers make better choices - they are just filling their own narcissism.“
