“Upon entering the shop you feel a very welcoming/chill atmosphere. Halo is very professional and is very good at her job. I have been going to the same artist for a few years and when I saw some of her work online I knew I needed to get some of her work on me! Changing tattoo artists was a little nerve wracking for me but she made me feel very comfortable, it was like being with a friend. I chose to get my tattoo on my arm near my elbow and I had not been tattoed in a year or so, so the pain kinda sucked. Halo was very understanding of that and was more then willing to give me as many breaks as I needed. She is wonderful and I can’t wait to get some more work done by her!“

“I have been tatted by Spidey twice during the $50 Flash Friday deal! This is a very reasonable price for smaller tattoos, especially if you are only wanting one small one. Many places have a $100 minimum and no deals. He has a sick shop! All the people that work in the shop are super nice, welcoming and easy to talk to! Spidey took care of me and tatted me exactly how I wanted! His fine line work is amazing! For people that are afraid to get tattooed because of heavy hand artist. That is definitely not the case with Spidey! He is very gentle and not heavy handed whatsoever.I have also gotten my faux rook, nostril and tongue pierced by Kei! They are literally an amazing soul, I have never met an empathetic piecer before I met Kei! They are super gentle, and walk you through all the steps! They are super understanding and want the best for your piercings, even if they haven’t done them! I will now continue to get pierced by them and only them!!! I have also bought multiple jewelry pieces for my other existing piercings. I also have been downsized by them as well! All around wonderful services!!! Also just have to put out there that pricing is soooooo affordable compared to other shops in the Tacoma area!!! :)))“

“I had my first tattoo done by Raye at the end of August when she worked at a previous shop, and she has since recently relocated to Rare Breed Ink Studio. The piece is a very specific butterfly with complex lines and details, and is something to me that has a lot of meaning behind it. It relates to work I have done with incarcerated people, my journey working in science, and mental health experiences. This was my first tattoo ever, I had no idea what sort of artist to look for to do an entomological tattoo or even how to find a good artist.I came across Raye's profile on her previous shop's website, and I am so glad I did. Prior to getting the piece, she was communicative and collaborative and responded very quickly to emails. While Raye prefers to do tattoos in black and white, this piece did include a bit of color and she used black and orange for my piece, and the color turned out really well. She has a very calm and centered energy to her, and I really appreciated this as someone who navigates an anxiety disorder. During getting the actual piece done, she really dedicated an incredible amount of care and precision to her art every step of the way.Ultimately, the piece healed really well. I keep getting asked, "Who did your tattoo?" and comments on how incredible it is. For a few people I've shown it too, they've randomly asked to see it again. I was even (positively) shocked at the final piece - I thought the sketch she showed me looked awesome, but when it was finished it was outstanding in a way that the original sketch can't compare to. Regarding the specific entomology design of the tattoo, while I don't think she necessarily advertises this, as someone who works in science I feel Raye has a lot of talent specific to scientific illustration. I hope to return soon and see her this time around at Rare Breed Ink for some minor touch up work, and all in all really appreciate Raye putting in her time and care into this piece.“

“Okay, absolutely nothing wrong with this place! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and they made us feel welcomed. The setup was unexpected and I mean that in a good way. I've never seen a tattoo shop with this vibe; it is a whole new world filled with nothing but straight humble vibes and the music selection was great with a tolerable and preferred volume. They have picnic type tables inside. Tables are surprisingly smooth, clean, and sturdy. Next to it is a smoothie shop that seems popular itself. The menu seems like a good amount of options with energy type smoothies as a choice. It seems as if everyone entering the shop is happy to be there and comfortable sitting there enjoying the vibe. I myself did so. Now as far as the tattoos, my wife was the one that got the tattoo and they MADE SURE it ended up meeting her expectations. She entered with a smile and left with a bigger smile. Not only does that make me happy and really wanting to come back if considering another tattoo, but I myself feel welcomed to be there anytime. The tattoo came out better than what we expected, in fact, I can't imagine anything better. It's a family owned business and they work AS A TEAM very well. Now i know that has nothing to do with a review on the concept of it, but as a customer that tells me a lot about the way they run the business. I wish we didn't have to wait so long for the appointment, but all other shops have a longer waiting time. So I had crossed this out as a negative. I HHIIIGHLLLYY recommend this shop for experienced and first-time customers (anyone). Thank you to all the people that worked there for an unforgettable experience.“

“We came here for my girlfriend's first tattoo. Gene was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and accommodating of our questions. He had everything already ready to go and setup before we got there. The shop is very clean and professional. He did an excellent job on the tattoo and made it a positive experience for her. A little bit on the pricier side, but it felt worth it.
