Even though I had washed my hair beforehand, she insisted on doing a full wash and conditioning treatment taking her time to make it a truly relaxing experience. She was incredibly thorough in consulting with me about what I wanted, asking plenty of questions to ensure she got everything just right. “Melanie is incredible! As a bridesmaid, she not only did my hair but also styled the entire wedding party—including the bride, mother of the bride, five bridesmaids, and the flower girl. Since the venue wasn’t available until later, she had us start at the salon at 6 a.m., and then came with us to the venue to finish and do the final touch-ups. We were all so thankful for her flexibility and creative problem-solving, and every one of us looked amazing!

I was especially nervous because my hair is quite thin and has been falling out. I’ve had some bad experiences with hairstylists at weddings before, and my mom is also a hairstylist, which makes it hard for me to trust just anyone with my hair. I had decided to use clip-in extensions for a fuller look, with braids and soft curls, but I was worried it might be too much to ask. When I showed Melanie the picture and the extensions, she was enthusiastic and confident about creating the look I wanted. She worked effortlessly with the extensions, constantly checking in with me to make sure I felt comfortable and that she was on track with my vision.

As someone whose mom is a hairstylist, it’s always a little hard to sit in another stylist’s chair, but Melanie made it feel so easy and comfortable.

“They are really nice and efficient here, so I feel bad giving anything less than 4 stars. I have been here before and noticed the nail art I received was just okay. Then again yesterday, I believe they need to improve their skills a bit. I asked for a heart, and think it could have been cleaner. My gel manicure has also already chipped on day 2. Usually I get a good 1-2 weeks before any signs of chipping. Pedicure was perfect though.“

“Went here today at 10am on a Thursday and got right in. Tiffany did my pedicure and Hana (her shirt said) did my gel manicure at the same time. My brought my toddler with me and they were very sweet with her. They have a pink kids pedicure station (we did not use but my daughter sat in this chair and loved it). Total time was around 40 minutes while they did pedicure/manicure at the same time. I noticed Tiffany used alcohol to clean up edges of toe nails which I appreciate this extra attention to detail in a clean finish. A woman Kristie I presume is owner, was very friendly and thankful.

Today's review is for Olympic Nails & Spa in Gig Harbor. First off let me start off by saying that this business has been under new management since August of 2024. This is a Great thing for Olympic Nails! They have one of the best Nail technicians in the PNW, (her name is Annie). Her and the staff are an unbelievable addition to this business. I can say, (100%) since my wife, daughter and even my mom have been going to Annie for many years. They absolutely love her and her work. Over the years, I have been privileged to see all of Annie's hard work and the creations that she comes up with on people's nails. I honestly don't know how someone can be so articulate and precise while working on nails. Now let's be honest ladies, sometimes a nail will break or fall off these technicians cannot make the nails always last forever. I have been married for 33 yrs-YES, (33) so I've seen and heard of all kinds of nail issues in that time. My wife and daughter have Never been So happy with all of the work Annie and the staff have done for them in almost ten years. I would Highly recommend Annie and the staff at Olympic Nails to do a fantastic job on your nails or a pedicure. Most Women when they find a place they like will stick to it. If you find yourself wondering where else to go- then wonder no more. Come to Olympia Nail & Spa and give them a try.
