This place exceeded my expectations but still has work to do. I've had awful experiences with residential centers in Utah so the bar is very low.
The staff here are kind although as a patient there's a level of advocacy you need to have as the staff seem too busy a lot of the time, presumably due to understaffing. There are some exceptional staff who did a particularly good job at making me feel human and cared for.

I was in for 11 days due to self harm, suicidal ideation and was generally not stable. The staff were incredible. Ousman was always positive and happy, zemen always was open to have a talk, benson was also super talkative (even though he liked to use air quotes a lot) ali was amazing and so were the staff in the kitchen. Mental health staff go through so much abuse it's not even funny. They genuinely want to help and yet people scream at them because they actually have to put in the work to get better and they don't want to. The only problem I had while I was there was the dietician. She did not know how to put in a diet restriction for a gastric bypass... read full review

My son was hospitalized for a month at Fairfax. He did really well, was treated with respect and kindness and appreciated how the staff encouraged him to try and do the best he can. He ended up drawing a lot, that allowed him to find a positive, peaceful outlet as he was healing.
