Our family was shocked at my Dad’s diagnosis of acute myeloid/erythroid leukemia. We travelled multiple times a week from Puyallup for labs and transfusions. Everyone was so compassionate and helpful. Even when my Dad was in a grumpy mood. The front desk, the lab, the physicians office and infusion team all made the experience bearable. We have since transferred closer to home, but we will always remember the staff and the great care we got at Fred Hutch. The only complaint I have is the lack of a proper cafeteria. My family and I had the surprise of our lives and our two year old daughter was diagnosed with Brain cancer. From day one they were welcoming and understanding of everything we have been through. To say my daughter is a little stubborn and hasn’t made their jobs easy on them would be an understatement but they love her even more for it and have all the patience with her to make sure she’s comfortable. They are not only supportive to my two year old but also supportive to my husband and I and more importantly my eldest daughter (10yo) as well. In the process of being treated. I have nothing but glowing recommendation for the whole process (doctors, staff, and facilities). I am extremely grateful for my treatment and all the kindness shown. They make this long difficult process as easy and pleasant as possible.
