“I was referred to BJ for TMJ (jaw pain and popping while eating, yawning, laughing) which had been progressively worsening over the course of a year becoming a daily nuisance.

It has been three days since my 1 hour myofacial massage session and the pain has reduced significantly! I'm able to eat more comfortably (full chewing) with a greater range of motion in my jaw overall. Some things to expect:

* Their therapeutic approach is holistic. I appreciated that the session started with neck/shoulder muscles leading up to the jaw as a way for me to familiarize with the pressure application techniques *before* starting to work on the problem area.
* The environment is a relaxing space to work together with the therapist toward addressing source of your discomfort. Good communication throughout had me comfortable with him working on the painful joint.
* For TMJ, your therapist will apply nitrile gloves to apply pressure from inside your mouth onto the jaw joint.
* Office staff is responsive/friendly

Best of luck to anyone else dealing with TMJ pain - it's worth it to take the time to seek out a solution to manage the pain and eliminate all the background stressors it can cause.“
