Ben has done a variety of projects for us over at least 5 years and 2 properties, including a retaining wall, driveway installation, drainage, a very large mound septic system, prepping and installing an in ground propane tank, prep work for concrete, pad for a shed, playground installation, the list goes on. We had a great experience with Ben/Black and Tan. The work involved removal of an old undersized septic system, and installation of a new, quite large mound system—and a pump to that mound. We had functional needs, and aesthetic concerns, and we couldn’t be more pleased with how both turned out. Most importantly, the system has worked well with no issues. Also, the way that Ben sculpted the mound in relation to the terrain means that it blends in well. Most people don’t know where our leach field is when they come. Finally, Ben was communicative, knowledgeable, and reliable (both on quality of work and showing up to do the work as designed).

We are very pleased to write a recommendation for Ben/Black and Tan Construction. We first hired Ben to design and install a new septic system. He was excellent, came on time, was very responsible, was extremely responsive and kept us abreast of the work being done.
The next time that Ben did work for our family, he really outdid himself. After the flood of 2023 the front and back of our home was devastated. Ben immediately brought in equipment to begin the rehab. He did expansive yard work, culvert work , creek work and even helped advocate for us with the town.
