We live in a historic 120 year old home without a level line or straight edge in it. Over the past century a lot of work has been done in this home, not all of it good. 2 months ago we had what we thought was a minor issue turn into a major problem. We were referred to Carter/Rose construction and gave him a call. He came right over, did a thorough survey of the issue, and gave us an estimate, which was based in reality and seemed fair. Carter and his partner showed up as promised and dug into the job, which turned out to be a real can of worms. Carter was unphased, gave us a clear and concise description of the extent of the issues and provided us with two courses of action on how to proceed. Carter and Cyrus worked straight through two weeks during the dog days of summer to finish what turned out to be a massive undertaking. The job was finished when Carter projected and the results left us speechless, exceptional all the way around. We've had a staggering amount of work done at this house over the past 20 years and Rose Construction is by far the best. Hallmarks of their work are: 1. Dependable. They show up when they say, they put in a full day's work. 2. Craftsmen. They do such good work. Attention to detail is evident in every single thing they do. As mentioned, our old house has no straight lines or 90 degree angles. They measured every single cut and line - everything fits like a glove and it's almost impossible to tell the new from the old. 3. They can do anything. The job went from 2-3 day repair to a two week major demolition and reconstruction. Carter and Cyrus were not daunted, they had a very clear understanding of the issues and came up with a terrific plan to get things fixed. And it turned out perfectly. 4. Neat, clean, professional. They ran a very professional job site. They cleaned up throughout each work day and at the end of each work day. Allowed us to keep our lives running throughout the job duration. They were very careful with our landscaping and the rest of the house. 5. Timely. Were on time every day, and got the job done when they said they would. Once the job became a major project Carter redid the time estimate and was spot on. 6. Communications. Carter was with us every step of the way. Gave us a quick update at the end of each day and sent us text messages with updates on materials and work progress. I knew exactly what was going on during every stage of the project and any time I called or texted Carter was right there to respond. 7. Results. The proof of the pudding is in the tasting! As mentioned earlier, the quality of their work is exceptional. They used top quality materials and worked efficiently and effectively, but never rushed or got sloppy. The house looks gorgeous and the construction is solid, seamless, and clean. Just have never had a team like Carter and Cyrus at the house, they are keepers. 8. Price and Value. I won't quote numbers but they are as fair and honest as I've ever met. Carter's estimate was spot on (for the original job) and once he dug we pretty much gave him a blank check. He didn't abuse that trust. Extremely careful with materials, buying the best but only what was needed, no wastage. When the job was over his final bill was almost exactly what I was expecting (came in a bit lower). I've paid a lot more for a lot less. In conclusion, the best residential construction company we've used in our time in this home, we'll call them first and always. I didn't want to post this review because we don't want to share Rose Construction, but Carter and Cyrus are such good guys we owe it to them to spread the word.
Was moving to the Norfolk area and needed to get a couple of rooms painted in our home. The customers service was outstanding. Very professional and friendly and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a painter in the local area. I would give 10 ⭐️’s if I could.

Amazing work! They just finished taking down 2 enormous and 3 medium sized trees all in really challenging locations. Professional, kind, courteous and reasonable. They worked so well together and with what I needed done. I'm so thankful!
