I love coming here and am always made to feel so welcome! Izzy is so sweet and has helped me regain so much confidence as a woman experiencing hair thinning due to medical issues in her 30's. She's always patient, kind, cordial, and every hair cut I've had with her makes me feel amazing and beautiful. I can't recommend her and the salon enough!

I decided to cut my long hair after growing it out what seemed forever. I have been back and forth debating whether to cut it but recently had a birthday and decided to do it. I am not from VA Beach area and live approx 2 hrs away. I decided to take a leap of faith and make an appointment at this salon. Best decision ever! The person at the front desk was the sweetest (I wish I got her name). Friendly, sweet and made me feel welcomed. My hairstylist Amanda V. did an amazing job! I was so scared of going too short however she listened and took her time. It didn’t feel rushed and she gave me exactly what I wanted. I wasn’t even sure I explained myself correctly but she worked her magic and I am loving the cut! When I need it cut again in a couple of months, I am going to make the drive just to come see her. I recommend!

I wanted a very simple haircut (take a few inches off and add layers in the front) so I made a last minute appointment thinking what can possibly go wrong. I’ve learned my lesson.
The lady who cut my hair turned me away from the mirror mid-haircut, finished cutting my hair, dried it and then told me she struggled with something so she needed help from another professional. I was still facing away from the mirror and haven’t seen myself. While they tried to save what was little left of my hair, it was getting shorter and shorter, and now it is completely ruined. Before and after photos are attached. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hair salon.

I had told the receptionist before I made the appointment I had very thick hair and she said it wouldn’t be a issue. Summer was very kind but I didn’t get at all what I asked for and the appointment felt rushed. I asked for layers but they were sheared off with the edge of the scissors, not cut in real layers. Hard to explain but I’m not happy with how my hair looks. I walked out with poofy unstyled hair when I paid for a wash, cut and style. As a mom it takes a lot for me to do self care and this was a total fail. Pic is of me and the next is what. I asked for. Also have uneven hair in the front..

I cannot say enough about how much I love this place, mainly because of Nef but everyone here that I've dealt with has been delightful! I struggled after moving to the area to find someone that could give me what I was looking for regarding cut and color and Nef will be my forever person as long as I'm in Virginia. Shes so talented and really, really listens + cares about what you're going for. Aside from being an all around amazing person she makes hair goals come to life! I've had two appointments with her and can't wait for my next one...

I love to go places that take guest service seriously! It’s evident that the staff at Ava Marie Salon of Creatives have this at the forefront of their operations.
I am thoroughly impressed with stylist Izabella Smittle. Unfortunately, I live over six hours away and will not be able to schedule my regular haircare appointments with her. She brings key ingredients for success in her field.

After some disappointing experiences at other VB salons, I found Summer at Ava Marie. What a pleasure to find such a
talented and personable stylist. With just a few questions she knew exactly how to cut and style my hair. The salon is cheerful and welcoming. I couldn't be happier.
