“Lizzy is a go to for all our contractor needs both large and small. It started with trim and siding repairs from storm damage then we bit the bullet and had them replace the siding. They weren't the most expensive and not the cheapest. But delivered on time. We then used them to update our hideous mantel and got a custom mantle and tile all the way up. Its beautiful. If you need a contractor in Williamsburg we recommend them highly. We referred them to friends and they got a beautiful deck out of the deal.“

“MGL Granite completed a remodel of my kitchen - new cabinets and countertops. I would definitely recommend MGL - Billy was great and had wonderful ideas on making the kitchen look nicer. Billy definitely knows what he is doing and you can trust whatever he tells you. The cabinet installer also really knows what he is doing. My only recommendation here is to make sure that Billy is communicating his vision with the cabinet installer. MGL was a lot more reasonably priced than other quotes I had received. I supplied my own plumber and electrician - not sure if MGL has tradespeople that they can recommend. My entire kitchen remodel took 1 week. The demo was on a Friday, they dropped off the cabinets on Saturday, and cabinet install started the following Monday. They were finished by Friday. Super happy that the process did not dragged out into weeks. I had something that I wanted fixed/changed after the install and Billy made it happen which I very much appreciate. They care about the customer experience and will bend over backwards to make you happy.“

“I am very happy with the work that AWS did recently to my house. I needed to have my entire house painted (exterior) Randy and his team repaired wood, then prepped my large, historic home for painting - power washing, scraping, sanding. The painting that followed was done carefully, and there was great attention to detail. All surfaces were primed, then two top coats of the final color. The painters were here nearly 10 hours, every day for a month....it was well worth the wait. For being 116 years old, it looks like a brand new house! I knew this project was not going to be cheap, but I do feel that it was a reasonable price for the amount and type of work that had to be done. Pearce's information at a dining table in the Courthouse Restaurant in Gloucester.Mr. Pearce actually looked at my property a year before I was ready for the work to be done, and would consistently get back to me, even if he or I were out of town at the time.When it came time, I had two bedrooms with closets, a hallway, and a bathroom drywalled and painted (plus trim in all and tile over the tub I had set myself in the bathroom) for a fair price, even including the fact that he managed to upsell me on updating the electrical in all three rooms.Thad, Jason, Eric, and Brian worked on my job- with the exception of a couple days when one of them had a family emergency. All four were very professional and did solid work. They weren't all there every day, as Mr. Pearce had other jobs going on simultaneously and needed hands elsewhere, but I never had a day that I didn't see progress if they were there. “Superb quality and workmanship at a fair price.

I got five bids for my roof replacement. Herb came out and was great to talk to. I'm no roofer, but I have done a ton of research in the last year or so leading up to this project. Herb was the only one of five to point out the necessity of drip edge and proper ventilation. To me, this says a lot about the roofing industry. Many many contractors will happily take your $10k+ and install a roof that will last 1/3 as long as it could if installed properly. Proper intake and exhaust venting is critical, silicone boots, galvanized nails, competently flashed chimney, and other little things need to be done correctly so that the roof lasts as long as possible. Herb was clearly in favor of installing the best possible roof.

Colony worked with my budget and I gave them the job. Herb even suggested another shingle color from the one I thought I wanted. This turned out to be a great pick which I love. He also didn't badmouth one shingle maker over another, and was willing to install any of the quality brands on the market.

They worked diligently all day, and when I arrived home from work, everything was getting buttoned up and they were starting to clean. They spent more than an hour cleaning up, and I have only found one nail that they missed. Overall, they did an excellent job on the install. Everything is so neat and clean, valleys look perfect, little touches like painting the vent stacks just helps the roof look even more sharp. It was a cold day, and got dark quickly, yet these guys managed to get everything right and did a great job cleaning up and limiting disruption to the neighbors.

Cannot say enough good things about my experience. I will be recommending them to anyone in need of a roof or major home improvement project.“

The work started within 48 hours and when the team came to do the outdoor painting I was amazed at the attention to detail. They re-sealed my wood stairs and all the posts and verticals.
