We’ve been going here for years because its so hard to move to a new provider. Drs are good, but the administrative staff is just so rude. The scheduling experience is painful. You call a number and give all of your info for them to internally message someone else to call you back to schedule an appt. There’s no ETA on how long the call back is.

Went to my appointment and was told my prescriptions were sent to the pharmacy. Went to the pharmacy, they never received anything. Called the office back to get this fixed with little to no help. I wanted to get it sent to a different pharmacy and when I called them they hadn’t received it either. I called the doctor back again and the receptionist was still no help. I just want my prescription but clearly I won’t be getting it after wasting my time trying to get an appointment.

I am incredibly disappointed with the experience we had this morning with Dr. Haught and his nurse. My son, who is 16 and a half, had an appointment that we booked a while ago, confirmed several days in advance, and even checked in online for. Upon arrival, the front desk informed us that Dr. Haught does not see patients under 18. This was shocking, as no one called to notify us of this policy beforehand. My son is a patient of the clinic and his previous provider left the practice. It was simply a follow up visit that took little to no time at all.

What made matters worse was the complete lack of professionalism and courtesy from Dr. Haught and his nurse. Instead of sending someone to explain the situation or offer any assistance, the nurse walked by us multiple times, spoke to the front desk about us, and completely ignored us as we sat there. No one apologized, no one addressed us, and we were essentially treated as if we didn’t exist.

The front desk staff and the coordinator, on the other hand, were very kind and helpful. They worked quickly to get us in with another provider, whose nurse had excellent bedside manner and treated us with the respect and care we expect in a medical setting.

It’s truly disappointing that Dr. Haught and his team failed to provide even basic communication, support, or common courtesy. This experience left us feeling disrespected and frustrated. After seeing him interact with his support staff on our way out I’m grateful we didn’t get to see him. He’s not what we would want in a provider at all!

I hate I can’t leave another review because I want to share about the experience with the other provider Dr. Duaa Abdelhameid and Nurse Paula truly turned things around for us. Despite the clinic’s mistake, they went above and beyond to ensure my son was seen and supported without making us reschedule or feel like an inconvenience.

Dr. Duaa was professional, kind, and compassionate, and Nurse Paula’s bedside manner was outstanding. They treated us with dignity and respect, which made all the difference after a frustrating experience. I cannot thank them enough for their care and for stepping in when we needed it most.

The clinic is lucky to have such a caring and dedicated team. Dr. Duaa and Nurse Paula turned what could have been a terrible day into a positive and supportive experience. They desire a 10 ⭐️ if I could give it!

Just called to see about my daughter getting an appointment because she is having a skin reaction of some sort. The receptionist reads off a list of things that the doctors are seeing patients for and (rash) isn't one of them. Are there not skin Drs there???

So efficient! Everything was so clean. I got here five minutes before my appointment and I was done 20 minutes later.

Brought my child here for an assessment of a vascular birthmark on the face. They started a topical medication and misdiagnosed the classification of the birthmark. My child should had been started on an oral medication instead. I ended up going to a different dermatologist who informed me that if my child had received the appropriate therapy the birthmark could have significantly improved in appearance. Now the medication is not as effective at my child’s current age and we are not sure if the taking the medication now will be as impactful. Each time I took my child for a follow up the birthmark was barely glanced at and if it had been examined more closely maybe things could have been different. The staff and providers were kind and I did not have any issues with my appointments and scheduling.

RUN do not Walk AWAY from VCU Health Dermatology.I was a patient for 15 years. 11 months ago I had two excisions done for basal cell carcinoma. Office visit, prepped, done, and return visit all cost me $770. Ouch but that is not the issue. In May another basal cell, tiny and much smaller than the previous two. Office visit and no excision, I am given a surgery prep exam, asked if I want general anesthesia at the future surgery (my response - what? I thought it was quick office visit) and told that this isn't the surgery, just an information session and charged $400. Now I am very uncomfortable. What's changed? Then 18 hours before the surgery I receive a phone call and email stating that the surgery will cost $6,000 and I have to pay $3,000. Eleven months ago two large excisions cost $1200 and I had paid $770.I cancelled and changed dermatologists. This was a clear upsell to excessive surgery. Do not trust VCU Health - they have their own financial interests prioritized over your health!

This is the second time I’ve been to this location and will be my last. The first time was about a year ago and I was never able to get my prescription because it was never sent. This time I made sure to tell them three times which pharmacy I use while I was in the office and then once more later when I had to call to find out the status of the prescriptions only to have them send them all to the wrong pharmacy. The doctor that saw me treated me like I was more of a inconvenience than anything else. BTW it was the same doctor as my first visit and he had that same horrible behavior then.I will not be returning to the practice. The are uncaring, unempathetic, and lazy.

Completely unaccommodating! Tried to switch my appointment so my daughter could be seen instead of me. The dermatologist sees pediatric patients. The receptionist says they won't take her insurance, but they take mine. IT'S THE SAME INSURANCE! Morons!
