Once in a great while, I have discovered a locally owned small business that drove me to write a recommendation. Richmond's Unsprung Upholstery is such a rare find.
I wanted to have a Stickley Leopold's chair and ottoman set re-upholstered. During my research, I visited the furniture store where I had bought the pieces. When I expressed my concern to a salesperson that the unique, complex design and tufting might preclude excellent results, he replied that he could only recommend one business for this job. Then he took out his phone, found Unsprung Upholstery's website, and invited me to photograph the display.
Living in a time of disposable consumption, especially inexpensive fiber board furniture, you don’t often consider upholstery. You certainly don’t consider the necessity of re-upholstery. But if you have any real furniture and find yourself in need of a repair or renovation I cannot recommend Unsprung Upholstery enough. Jonathan and his team did an amazing job on my strange old chair and I am so grateful. Every interaction was informative and helpful. Thanks to everyone at unsprung for resurrecting my old chair.
