Decided to get my first tattoo in about 5 years, and my first in a decade in America. I first went to a different artist in the city and had a very strange experience - he seemed completely uninterested in actually talking about the tattoo design and when he sent me his draft the day before he effectively ignored basically all of the details of the tattoo I was asking for. After trying to clarify the the details it was pretty clear that he just wasn't engaged and we decided to move on.
I was pretty concerned thinking that this was just how getting a tattoo was going to work nowadays, but then I found Joe Hall and had a completely different experience. He helped me design and conceptualize the tattoo and created it in his own style, was totally receptive to making small changes created a beautiful work of art. The tattoo looks amazing and healed just as expected.
