Northern Virginia Center For Arthritis offers treatment for arthritis and bone density problems. They have two locations, Lansdowne and Reston. The Lansdowne location is praised for its friendly staff. However, the Reston location receives negative reviews for its rude and disorganized staff. Patients report long wait times and difficulties getting prescriptions filled. While some patients find Dr. G polite, they also note that she mumbles and spends very little time with patients. I was in a flare and on a wait list and got a call that Monica could fit me in. Early one am, my neighbor and I staggered in and I have seen Monica and Dr G since then. Yes, there can be wait times and infusion times can be a bit blurry now and then. One person managing all that! I wouldn't go anywhere else. Monica is the best. She is always willing to discuss experimental treatments in review, etc.
I came to Northern Virginia Center for Arthritis with significant doubt after seeing several other specialists and getting less-than-favorable results. Getting an appointment was easy, and I was seen by PA Monica Gonzalez.
Monica took the time to truly listen to me and understand the problems I was having. She reviewed the information from my previous doctors, properly diagnosed my issue, and treated me accordingly. She showed compassion, understanding, and patience, and I never felt rushed. Unlike other experiences I had, she did not just give me the first quick answer and send me on my way.

First my appointment started with my orthopedic tell me I needed a rheumatologist. I had been in terrible knee pain, bruising through out my skin, vision, hearing, skin just hurt all over. I was slowly debilitating at age 41. I’m a RN so going to a rheumatologist was a big deal because I didn’t think I had a rheumatology problem. I thought I just needed rest and PT. It got so bad that the day of my appointment I was laying in the hallway out the door of their office waiting for them to open. Prior to my appointment, I called the office in despair.
