I have taken multiple pets to Smith Mountain Lake Animal Hospital since the first day they were in business. I have always had a good experience; even through the worst of times , saying goodbye to a pet. Their compassion and knowledge are outstanding. Throughout the years, they have cared for four dogs, 16 cats and a duck for me. They aren’t just my pet’s doctors but I also consider them to be my friends. The office staff and technicians are outstanding. They are the best you can find.
I would like to thank Dr. Paul Gallagher and the staff for their compassion and professionalism. My brother had to have his precious Abby euthanized which was a very emotional decision he had to make. Dr. Gallagher, after examining Abby, went the extra mile by taking some more ex-rays in addition to, and separate from, the ex-rays taken from the previous visit. Everything brought us to the same sad conclusion. As painful as this was for my brother, I could see that Dr Gallagher shared our pain himself during the procedure. If anyone is considering a hospital for your pet, Smith Mountain Lake Animal Hospital is the only one we would consider. God Bless you Dr. Gallagher… read full review
Absolutely wonderful place to bring your pet too. When my Madea was at the end of her life they handled her passing with So much compassion.. And now with our new puppy, having issues with his eyes again, they have been absolutely wonderful answering questions that I have and Taking such good care of our dear Charlie… They’re pretty affordable and they really focus on your pets needs. They don’t try to convince you into unnecessary tests. I was very pleased with every experience I’ve had with this place and we will continue to receive our vet care thank you to all the friendly staff.
