“We added onto our 1938 Cape Cod style house in Arlington, Virginia to accommodate a three generation family of five. Winn Design did a great job incorporating the requests from all of us. For Gramma, me, there is a lovely first floor suite with a wide ADA compliant hall and a private bathroom. For my son and his wife there is a new bedroom with beautiful skylights and a master bath bath on the second floor and an art studio with lots of light in the basement. For the tween and teen granddaughters there are bedrooms for each of them and they only need to share a bath. For all of us there is now a large comfortable screened porch right off the kitchen. Everyone we worked with at Winn was pleasant and capable. The onsite supervisor kept us informed every work day by text and photographs about the progress being made and what to expect next. I couldn't be happier with our "new" house.“

“I have used TAS extensively at my West End townhouse, including (1) the English basement, which they completely remodeled, installing a gorgeous new kitchen and petit bathroom, (2) the top floor, with entirely new closets and two new fantastic bathrooms, and (3) adding a new bathroom on the first floor, and (4) expanding the bathroom on the second floor, including a new sauna. Much of the work could go straight onto the pages of Architectural Digest. The work is absolutely lovely. No corners are cut, nothing falls apart or fails to perform, and everyone remarks how great it looks. TAS has stellar ideas on the design side, so that I can look to them for guidance where I'm not sure what I want, and they can execute on my vision if I know what I want. Andre and Dorians have a great "bedside manner" -- they can very gently steer me in a new direction if I'm thinking of something that they realize I'll come to regret over time. They are very reliable -- they show up, they complete projects, they get things done, their crew tidies up nicely. “I received several kitchen remodeling estimates and SkillsDesign was the only company that suggested rearranging the layout which then allows me to have standard or full size appliances, instead expensive nonstandard sizes. So for less than the cost of the difference between a special size dishwasher and a standard size dishwasher, they suggested to rearrange the footprint and than my door would come out to my back porch, essentially adding square footage to my tiny house. It was brilliant. I was in surprised no one else suggested that and I just got an overwhelming feeling that they cared and I feel that is not something you find very often anymore, a company that cares and SKillsDesign does and it’s a local family owned business. Unfortunately I’m not in the area, so I was sadly only able to use them for the designing, but it was well worth it. I also have a very small space, so they took the time and designed every single cabinet to my specifications. The communication was excellent and they were always on time and if you’re lucky enough to live in the area, I would highly recommend using them for any and all remodeling projects as they have many talents and can turn your remodeling project to something that will blow away any and all competition. “Working with YL Designz from start to finish was a pleasure. I was able to get out of my comfort zone and think outside the box to create a peaceful yet fun environment in my owners suite, family room and eat in kitchen areas. Many of the furnishings came from the stores I would shop, but the focal pieces were from trade vendors to create a unique look. Ordering the pieces was made easy as all the links were provided including how many needed and sizes based upon the floor plans and measurements taken. I never once felt pressured to buy anything outside of what I was looking for. The e-design experience has been great thus far. I’m still awaiting furniture and accent pieces due to shortages and deliver delays beyond our control, however will do another review once the furniture is placed in the rooms along with the artwork.Services: Room planning“
