We are very grateful to Dr. Lester and her professional, skilled team for the exceptional care they gave our dog, Oliver, from late February until mid-October. Because of an emergency clinic visit in late February, Dr. O’Donnell at the AECC, Leesburg, wanted Dr. Lester to do an ultrasound on Oliver’s spleen as there was something suspicious. Dr. Lester identified a nodule that she then advised we monitor over the coming months. At first there were no changes to the nodule size except in April there were now two. However, in August one nodule had doubled in size. Dr. Lester was concerned and recommended Oliver to VSC, Leesburg for surgery. His biopsy determined sarcoma and his cancer is being treated. We look back on this experience and realize if it hadn’t have been for Dr. O’Donnell in AECC and then Dr. Lester’s quick response in August, we might not have Oliver with us today if these masses had ruptured. Again, a special thanks to the VCA IMed team.

We needed to have an Ultrasound done on our cat & Leesburg Veterinary Internal Medicine was highly recommended. Now I can see why. Everyone was very nice. Dr. Lester & team did a great job & thoroughly explained everything. Pricing was fair. Facility was nice & clean.

If I could give less than one star it would be appropriate. I came here with a very sick doberman named Romeo. He had been diagnosed with wobblers via an mri from a vet neurologist. He also had pancreatitis, & had eaten carpeting & as a result got an obstruction. He had obstruction surgery at another vet clinic & had a post surgical stroke. I was doing everything possible to rehabilitate & to help heal my dog. That is when I came to see Dr Lister for the pancreatitis that had been previously diagnosed. Dr.Lister did the usual work up that I had expected, & nothing unusual stood out. Dr. Lister informed me the my Romeo had IBS disease & not pancreatitis. She prescribed new medication & a follow up scheduled. This went on for a few visits until one of the new medications gave Romeo explosive diarrhea. I made another follow up & at this visit I requested blood work to be redone. I was told it wasn't time for new blood work. Medication changed again & told to make a follow up. I had enough & wanted my dog to get a second opinion. I took Romeo to the hope center & saw one of their internal medicine vets. They ran new blood work & did a complete new work up. The hope center through the bloodwork discovered my dog has diabetes & a pancreatitis flare up. Romeo is a diabetic !!!! He has a freestyle Libre & gets insulin twice daily. The pancreatitis is being treated properly as well. He is doing amazing & is a out of pain. Dr. Lister did not care about the health & well-being of my dog. She did not listen to me as a pet owner. My poor dog has had so many serous medical problems happen. I came to Dr. Lister & this practice for exceptional vet care & could not have been more let down. Romeo does not nor never had IBS disease. He had undiagnosed diabetes. He was diagnosed with pancreatitis from a regular vet that Dr. Lister said he dis not have. Romeo has pancreatitis & diabetes that usually do accompany each other. I called & spoke to the receptionist for Dr. Lister & told her of the new findings from the hope center. No one has ever called me back. No surprise The entire time spent with this Dr was a waste of my time & money. I am happy that I went to another vet that is knowledgeable, & helping my dog live a better quality of life.

From start to finish, my experience with this veterinary practice was simply outstanding. I was referred to Dr. Justin from our family veterinary practice to investigate our 12 year old dog Remi's elevated lymphocyte count. Cancer is one of the scariest things to consider for a pet, but never once during my visit did I feel fear because of the outstanding professionalism and expertise of the staff.
From the front desk check in with Myra to the intake with Marisa and comprehensive exam with Dr. Justin, we were treated with warmth and care and most importantly, a plan at every step. Never once did I feel lost or scared. Dr. Justin created an effective and comprehensive plan to test Remi and was able to complete an ultrasound and blood work the same day as our consultation and he personally sat down and shared the results with me immediately with the ultrasound and called me the following week when the blood test results were received.
Although we did get a diagnosis of leukemia for Remi, we are extremely pleased and grateful with the way Dr. Justin delivered the news. He took it upon himself to consult with an oncologist with her results first before calling us, and let us know that she doesn't need treatment just yet and informed us what we'd need to watch for symptom-wise and how regularly we should monitor her blood levels. This saved us time, as specialty doctors are hard to get in with, and prevented any unnecessary panic.
I share our resounding thanks with Dr. Justin and his team for being so kind and professional. If you are ever faced with a medical concern for your pet that needs a specialist, this is hands down the place to go.

Our sweet pup Ember was diagnosed with a mystery illness by Dr. Lester. We tried a couple treatment options to see if there was any improvement. The second try, Dr. Lester said that if Ember didn’t show signs of improvement, then she was out of ideas. I was instructed to watch Ember for two weeks and report my clinical findings. I took this very seriously because I wanted my dog to get better. When I called, I was made aware that Dr. Lester wouldn’t be back to work until mid-May. How am I supposed to call and update someone who’s not working? The situation is what it is, but towards the end, I just felt like Dr. Lester really didn’t care. Ember deserved better than that. We had to put our girl down and we don’t even know what was wrong with her. Now we feel as if the hospital collected 4k and then washed their hands.

My cat has been going to the Internal Medicine department for about a year now. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences here. Lisa, Michael, and Dr Justin are all extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. They genuinely care about my best buddy.

Our Bull Terrier needed to be seen here after an unusual x-ray.The staff here was great; the service prompt.Rosie was given an ultrasound; the vet took plenty of time to talk to me, AND all is well!Although I hope I don’t have to return anytime soon, I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else for services.

Dr. Villatoro and the VCA team are incredible! We rescued a dog that had been surrendered after being ran over by a car in West Virginia and we weren’t sure if she would ever walk again. They fit us in for an emergency procedure right away and provided multiple updates during her stay. With the help of the surgeons at Life Center and staff at VCA, Sissy is recovering tremendously and is back to being a happy 1 year old basset. Thank you to all that made this possible!

They took great care of my dog. That said they are overpriced and do not give definite prices, I was given a range and the low end was triple of my expectations going into them. Definitely was made to feel like the bad person for even saying something about the cost. Save yourself the money and stress by taking your pet to a local/non-corporate Vet.
