Belkis is amazing! The owner is really good at her craft too! I definitely recommend if you want a quick not too expensive blow out.

I was greeted upon entering, the young lady(Natalia) who took care of me was so kind and gentle. She gave me the best wash I've had in years and she handled my hair with care. She gave me exactly what I asked for, all without breaking my pockets. 10/10 I highly recommend. I will be going back.

Get your hair done here only if you want severe burns and damage to your hair. My scalp and neck have burns, scabs, and blisters from getting my hair done here. My hair is also splint and damaged. They are too rough, use too much heat, and they use substandard products. The lady that did my hair just told me to put oil on my scabs and blisters and I will be ok. Please go somewhere else.

Hair came out gorgeous with the blowout but smells awful. Be sure to ask for medium heat to be applied rather than high so your hair doesn’t smell bad at the end.

I’m usually really picky with hair salons, and yet this place has met every single one of my expectations. The place is always clean and welcoming and the ladies that work here are incredibly polite and friendly. Belkis has been taking care of my hair for a little over a month now, and I love that she’s gentle and actively listens. Whenever I come here it truly does feel like I’m getting the “me time” I deserve after a long week, great place.

My ratings of Rose's Dominican Salon is based solely on the vibe and communication with the owner, Rosa. Today I called and made an appointment with my favorite Stylist, when I got there she took me to the shampoo bowl and I passed by Rosa and spoke to her because she has always been friendly and nice to me. She looked up from her phone and muttered a hi. I am following a special treatment regimen in my hair so I brought my own shampoo and conditioner, which I have done before. So when my Stylist finished with my hair, (which she always do a wonderful job.) I asked her how much was my service, she quoted me $40. I gave her a $ 50 bill and I was telling her that I wanted back a $5 & 5 ones, I wanted to tip her. I brought cash with me because they had started charging $1 extra if you use a card, and there is a sign posted that all tips must be in cash. Well, my Stylist called Rosa and said something in Spanish that I didn't understand but, I assumed that she was asking Rosa to break the $50 . Rosa struts up to the register and takes the $50 places it in the drawer and tells me that my hair was $50 and there was no change. She says my hair cost more because it was long . I told her that I was not told that before I had the service and the service/price board states shampoo & blow dry is $40. She didn't entertain my dissatisfaction at all as she strutted back to the back and sat down. I could not understand what I had done to her , because that felt very personal to me. Because i have been to her salon before and paid $40 for that same service and my hair was just as long then . Also her very own Stylist, I know have done heads that had hair my length or longer and she didn't know that the price was $50 or she wouldn't have quoted me $40 when she finished. I told Rosa that but she ignored me. As the owner of a business that deal with the public, I think that she should have waived it that time or lowered it to $45 which is more reasonable and comparable to the going price in the area. Then she should make sure that she post on her price board that there is an extra charge on longer hair. I thought her attitude was disrespectful and that was poor customer service. It felt like she was upset with me for having my own products with me or because I requested a specific Stylist, or may be because I'm not a regular customer any more. I really do not know what her problem was with me. I found someone to help me get my hair back stronger and healthier after after having it bleached in her salon and it broke off terribly.I didn't blame her for that. I was the one that ask them to bleach it So, i do not go there as often anymore. I know that when you're dealing with a person who's primary
language is foreign, sometimes the message will get lost in translation, but Rosa's mannerisms said to me. "Your hairdo is $50 because its too long and you won't get any change from me. I don't care what you thought." Well, i guess it goes without saying that i will not return ever again to Rosa's Dominican Salon for my hair needs. There is another Dominican salon right down on laburnum ave. And everywhere that i go & get a shampoo blowdry and flat iron the price is no more than $45.
I don't know why she chose me to pick on because she was having a bad day.

Specialties: Betty the Stylist has a special technique of styling your hair and she does not rush through your styling to get you out so she can run and take a break. She's is the best Stylist there, in my opinion. Too bad I won't get to see her anymore because of the owner's customer service and attitude towards me. Her decision to take all of my money caused me not to have any cash left to tip Betty. Im so sorry because she really deserved one.

Rosa (The owner) is definitely the best !! She’s very gentle, not heavy handed, and wash your hair multiple times! I literally fall asleep every time.
