    Ada did this!
I went in for a simple trim and left extremely disappointed. As shown in the photos, I had very long hair and specifically requested only a trim. Instead, several inches of my hair were cut off. During the appointment, Ada told me that because my hair was thick, she decided to remove more length and weight to reduce the volume. This was never discussed with me, and I never gave permission for such a significant change.

I also only booked a haircut and never requested a blowout, yet one was performed. What should have been a simple trim ended up costing me $90 for a haircut that is uneven, choppy, and much shorter than I asked for.

To make matters worse, the workspace was very small and uncomfortable, and I was burned the entire time by the hair dryer, also she sprayed all over my face with the products she was using on my hair. A stylist should never make major decisions about a client’s hair without first getting their approval.

The before and after photos speak for themselves. I trusted this salon with my hair and left feeling disappointed. I would never recommend this salon and will not be returning. I’m just praying it grows fast so I can fix it.

I’m begging natural girlies to STAY FAR away from this place, I mean if you love your curls and typically wear your hair natural, Gina will leave your hair with unrepairable damage. They don’t use any sort of heat protectant! I’m forced to wear straight styles until I get the courage to cut all of my hair… even a pixie won’t look good due to the damage to my roots ;(

My friend and I recently got our hair done here (wash and set) I went to her before and Gina did my hair all the way through with no problem. Well I noticed, when I returned (Gina) started to push me off onto someone else, after she was 30 mins late to the appointment and ended up leaving the salon and had her mom wash my hair. I don’t know what was put in my hair during the wash but I smelt a strong chemical like smell briefly and a tingling sensation. I looked past it because she stated before that, unlike other Dominican hair salons who put relaxers in African American hair, they did not do the same. I should’ve took that with a grain of salt. Turns out my hair is relaxed at the root. They are very heavy handed and judgmental especially with African American hair texture (thick and course). They didn’t know that I also spoke Spanish and can understand them clearly but I didn’t let them know that. My friend made an appointment with Gina but never received her services. The lady that is in the shop with her took her and began to do her hair. This lady also relaxed part of her hair without permission, she also asked the lady repeatedly to avoid using very high heat on her hair. Despite her multiple requests she continued to pass over her hair with hot hot hot heat multiple times. She asked the lady to trim her hair, initially the lady refused then after informing her that a trim was needed she trimmed very very lightly, still leaving a lot of split ends. They both heat damaged both of our hair. I am highly upset and will never return. I advise if you’re Black/African American do NOT go here unless you want your natural curls stripped.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – Rey is the BEST barber!

Rey always does an awesome job! Every time I leave his chair, I feel like a million bucks. His attention to detail, skill with the clippers, and ability to give exactly what you ask for (or even suggest something better) is unmatched. Plus, he’s got great vibes—always professional, punctual, and makes the whole experience smooth. If you want a fresh cut from someone who truly cares about their craft, Rey is your guy. Highly recommend!
