“First time back to the Dentist. I really thought the Doctor did a wonderful job explaining my path . The only issue is the next step is a good cleaning which couldn't be scheduled until February of 2026! I guess I'm in limbo until then. I was told by friends to just go somewhere else. I think I'll stay with this office.“

“Dr. Duran and his dental assistant was so nice. Dr. Duran walked me thru all he was going to do and was patient and reseptive with my questions. The best thing is, when he went to numb my mouth I didn't even feel the needle, AT ALL!. The young lady that greeted me at the desk when I 1st got there was very friendly with such a great smile.
The Vinton office is now my favorite....“

“Been getting our teeth cleaned twice a year, which has been covered by Dental delta for the last couple of years until our last visit. With no advance warning, we received a bill for over $120.00 for the last cleaning. Called the office and was told they no longer accept our Delta Insurance. While they reduced the bill by 50%, it would have be nice if told of the change before hand. If known beforehand, would of found another dental office that accepts our insurance.

Edit-11/13/2025- received a call this morning apologizing on the lack of notice on the Delta Insurance change and issued a reimbursement for the charge. Was told that they do accept Delta Premier, but the fed delta plan does not provide that level and going directly to Delta is cost prohibitive for us. Was hoping to be able to get back to Dr Tates practice, which is great for the services provided, thus changed our rating to 5 stars.“

“This place is full of caring workers. I, so far recommend 100 percent this business. They made me a quick appointment. Effectively, evaluated my teeth situation. The sweet dentist swiftly devised two plans. One of which is a backup plan if my insurance fails to cover my crowns under the plan. This is a dentist who will not frighten you or make fun of your teeth in order to make more money off you or your insurance. I feel like that is what the Altavista Dentist in Altavista Va was doing to me. He did laugh and continued to make fun of my teeth. I have not been back to them since that day.“
