International Black Belt Center in Charlottesville is one of the rare schools teaching traditional Taekwondo in the lineage of Grandmaster Kwon, Jae-Hwa, one of General Choi’s most distinguished students. Unlike many modern sport-oriented or contact-based programs, this traditional approach is non-contact, deeply disciplined, and appropriate for all ages. Every year a few fellow students and I willingly take a 6 hour straight drive down from NYC to train with the excellent students and teachers at the International Black Belt Center. Some of the most caring, skilled, and genuinely wonderful group of people you'll ever meet. I consider them part of my extended family through tae kwon do.

So many great reasons to take Taekwon-Do at IBBCV! Cindy, Theresa, and Susan are outstanding, patient, and knowledgeable instructors. Both my kids and I have practiced here for years, and I wouldn't go anywhere else for martial arts in Charlottesville. Traditional Forms, Non-Contact, all female instructors - what else could you ask for?
