Charlottesville VA Clinic

Day 2 and not as impressed but they did fix a wrong scan order so we didn’t have to pack up and leave. Was told meds ready and not there yet. A very long day running around getting nothing done. Day 1 was very impressed with the care my 93 yr old vet fatherin-law received today. He couldn’t have asked for more. All difficulties were addressed, the nearby UVA pharmacy was super speedy and convenient. A different specialty drug through the VA pharm was free and can now be taken.. They have MDs that can come to your house. We got appts lined up a week after we called. Everyone was super awesome. The RN couldn’t been nicer. MD super thorough. The Charlottesville CBOC seems to be a gem in the VA system. The staff goes the extra mile for the patient, and are friendly and responsive. I have always had good luck scheduling an appointment or follow-up, and the medical professionals I have worked with seem to genuienly care about the patient.

Have had numerous issues with this VA facility. They’re a pain to do absolutely anything with (scheduling, pain or disease management, etc). I have been to other, better, VA facilities around the US. Caveat emptor if you’re stuck here in Charlottesville.
