This review is to warn others about a doctor, Dr. Veena Chawla. At my very last appt, yesterday, Dr. Chawla had me in tears, leaving feeling very uncared for and neglected. On several occasions this doctor has cut my medication doses in half- some which could be life threatening. She had promised to refer me to specialists and then when asked later if it was made she would question why I need the referral- like she had completely forgotten we had talked about my history of health conditions in depth MANY times. On my last appt, I was told I couldn't be on weight loss medication for more than three months. I explained that this isn't true, I've done my research. Then I was told Kaiser doesn't cover it, that's fair, but please do not send someone home with a weight loss medication package if it isn't going to be covered. Had to beg to get help with my weight and finally, after leaving the room to talk to someone about this she made a referral to nutrition and lifestyle (potentially, she very well could have forgot). I switched pcps and am otherwise very happy with all my Kaiser doctors. Dr. Zebro in psychology for instance is amazing, great bedside manner.

Dr. Leng was extremely thorough. He spent quite a bit of time with me making sure he was fully aware of all my health problems and needs. He was very outgoing but totally professional. I'm delighted to have him as my primary care doctor.

I was very disappointed in one of the visits I had here recently. I am 130 lbs and 5'4" and a comment about my weight and how "I need to exercise more". I made it clear I do workouts for 30 minutes 5 days a week, and am walking all day at work. I had other concerns as well that I felt rushed through and not listened to whatsoever. I felt like my doctor (PCP) was almost like a talking robot on auto pilot. The visit did not seem like it was for me, it felt like it was for a group of people. Overall, I had high expectations for Kaiser and so far, Im feeling let down and defeated.

Kaiser permanente in Ashburn seems to always be put out or inconvenienced when bring outside dr test prescription. They misguide you and persuade you to always come back later. This has happened on many occasions. I have gone to the Tysons and fairoaks labs and have not had issues.

When I first moved to NVA almost 10 yrs ago, I disliked KP, until I had an appt with Dr. Huong-An Nguyen, and he changed my opinion instantly. This man is the bomb (that means awesome for those who are like, "Huh?") Lol. He is HILARIOUS, for one. Everytime I have an appt, I feel like I'm at a live comedy show. He is patient, compassionate, THOROUGH, responds to your 100 questions if you have them, is quick to respond to emails, and never lets you leave your appt feeling uneasy. I have never had a PCP like him in my entire life!! I swear if he ever leaves KP, I will be following him to his new practice. Somebody give Doc a Physician of the Century Award because he is well deserving of it!

The absolute worst. Had blood work drawn here and what a mess. First the clerk had no idea what he was doing and it took him forever to figure it out. A line of people waiting and some guy walks up puts his name on a list and the clerk takes him first while there have been people in line for 10 min. Then only one person is drawing blood at 8:30 in the morning. Seriously this is awful. Then when I had to do a urine test there were 6 urine spacemen sitting in the window. No one had picked them up. So no patient confidentiality!!!! Your name, date of birth and test for everyone using the bathroom can see. I called the day manager and he made up every excuse in the book as to why. I was told I would get a call back. I guarantee no call back will happen. How is it a company can pay there CEO $60 million a year and not hire enough staff to take care of its patients. This is wrong and so many HIPPA violations. Where is your accountability Kaiser!!!! Your rates keep going up but your service keeps going down. So you respond asking me to put my PII in an email??? Wow is all I can say. Happy to contact you if you give me a phone number to call.

Kaiser is a machine and you are just an input. They are terrible. They will nickle and dime you to death. There is no point to having insurance if they still charge you for everything. You have no option but to go to their location no matter what. Have an emergency? too bad, you need to drive to Tysons Corner, even if you're bleeding to death. Kaiser is absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with "health care".
