I recently hired Heart of Wood Tree Service to grind a stump from a small tree that my husband removed. When the owner, Thomas, came to look at the stump, he also recommended that the very overgrown holly bushes in the front of our yard needed pruning and noticed tree limbs growing onto our roof. He gave us the information and estimate but we did not feel pressured at all to include work beyond the initial request for the stump. Thomas and his crew have always done an honest, amazing job, at reasonable cost, and I can’t tell you how much we appreciate that. Thomas is transparent in his recommendations, identifying risk but not over-exaggerating either. He also understands the $ cost and emotional attachment that might come with having to take a tree down, and has a wealth of creative suggestions to mitigate both concerns. He is fast responding to emergency requests, and he and his crew take the time to asses/recommend but also listen to ensure that any work is agreed on ahead of time -If his crew has questions, they ask. Thomas is an absolute tree guru. He quickly walked through our yard and knew the varietal of every tree and identified ones that needed care. He showed up right on time and provided a quote on the spot. His crew were all experts and very courteous. They gracefully removed a large tree in our front yard as well as a few smaller ones in the back. They cleaned up meticulously. I would highly recommend!
