Aura spa at Vida Fitness in Ballston is a hidden gem. I had the best facial with Elena! I have sensitive skin and the products were very soothing and effective. I enjoyed every step of the facial from the rejuvenating face massage, lymph drainage techniques, neck and shoulder stretches, gentle extractions, hot towels, etc. There was minimal talking so I was able to be present in my body to rest and restore. Ambiance is excellent. Customer service is great. I love the low key unpretentious vibe of this spa. You gotta check it out!

David was my massage therapist. He was extremely passive aggressive, harsh with his movements, and truly made me feel uncomfortable on the table. I tried addressing this with management and the line they kept saying was "this is surprising, no one has said this about him before". David was 10 minutes late to the session due to "road rage", did not make up for the time and did not address the problem area I came in for, despite me explicitly telling him why I was there. His response was "right... we're going to focus on X area instead". Poor experience overall - would not recommend this to anyone.

Don’t bother!Booked a facial appointment with the spa manager a month or two in advance. It was first canceled by her due to personal circumstances. Nothing wrong with that of course, and I rebooked at a later date. I confirmed my appointment a couple of days beforehand and showed up 10 minutes early. She was not there, so her colleagues tried to call her to no avail. I waited an additional 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment and then emailed her in hopes of getting an explanation and apology, especially considering if the shoe was on the other foot, I would be charged! I never got a response. I waited a week, and contacted her again. Again, crickets. At least have the respect to provide an explanation. So don’t bother; there are plenty of alternatives in the area.

I have been to Aura spa multiple times over the year and they are the best! I have gotten many services there (waxes, facials, & massages) & they have a wonderful staff! I felt very safe going during COVID. They are very professional and attentive. My favorite esthetician is Bianca and favorite masseuse is Gary!!

Beware--shady cancellation practices. Vida advertises its $140 monthly membership as one that can be cancelled "at any time with 30 days' notice." This isn't true. In my case, they said the soonest my membership could end is 58 days after I provided notice. Vida is free to require as much notice as it wants. But be up-front about it. For example, advertise the plan as being able to be canceled "with 31-60 days' notice." Don't do this unfair and deceptive "gotcha" thing that catches people off guard when they actually go to cancel.

Really looked forward to a massage from Aura while being a fitness member at Vida. Aura Spa canceled on my appointment twice which were both booked a month out in advance. Both were due to being understaffed which is understandable during these times. However it would have been much better customer service if they would have reached out to schedule a new appointment, since they had canceled last minute the night before. If it were the other way around we would have been charged a fee! I'm sure they will bounce back!

I've been going to Aura Spa at Vida for about 4 months now and I have nothing but great things to say about my experience. I have extreme tension in my neck and back, but with consistent treatments at Aura Spa, I'm finally feeling relief (after years of trying other spas/services with no luck). The massage therapists here truly care about what is aching you and work to achieve results to make sure you leave in a better state. The staff is incredible and the environment is very welcoming and safe. Couldn't recommend more to anyone looking for a great massage!

I am a nutritionist who is prepping for her first show since having a baby and beating breast cancer so it was pretty disappointing to be targeted by the same male trainer every time I tried to go workout at the Vida . I joined Vida Ballston like most to have a new clean space to take care of my body. The first time, the trainer William S. approached me aggressively while working out with my girlfriend, accusing me of training a girlfriend who was working out with me. As a fitness professional it was imperative to me that the management knew that this wasn't the case so I interrupted my first workout at Vida to share this the mgmt team and sales manger Julie. The second incident with the same trainer, William S., was this morning. While I was working out again with a girlfriend, William aggressively asked me to put my mask on while it was hanging on my ear while I was sipping a cup of coffee from Philz. At first it feels like a mask enforcement BUT BECAUSE this has been a pattern with the same male trainer I suspect it's a bit more and the "energy" I have noticed with the training staff at Vida Ballston. I am not trying to cancel anyone but just want to make it know that this isn't OK. I take fitness, healthy and dignity seriously and I don't want others to to experience this passive aggressive trainer bullying at Vida Ballston. I lift, I know what I am doing and I don't need you "male trainer" to make me feel like I dont belong her. It's not ok. I will be going to a different Vida for sure - the SW location has never given me any trouble. HMM.

I've had a combination of not taking care of myself and having really bad luck with my health. After both an autoimmune disease and being diagnosed with thyroid cancer at 27 during a pandemic, my weight and eating went from bad to worse. I joined VIDA knowing that I needed to develop some self-motivation to take care of myself but I was really overwhelmed by how much work I had to do. I originally was attracted to how safe they were about COVID protocols, but then I found out about their 12 week Evolve program and full time nutritionist, both of which can be billed to my health insurance. That program and support has been awesome. In the last three weeks, I've lost six pounds and started ramping up my gym sessions. My personal trainer Allie, the full-time nutritionist Rachel, and even the membership director June have been warm and supportive and made this feel so much more manageable. Through Evolve, I'm in a cohort of people who are working to get healthy through nutrition classes and group workouts. I have 1:1 sessions that help me learn what steps I need to take and also gently hold me accountable. In a great small world moment - I found out that my doctor who helps me with post-cancer treatment is a member too! I'm at a point where if I don't make changes, and make them lifelong, I'm going to have even more serious health complications. That originally felt like way too much pressure and it's definitely going to be a process, but the VIDA team has been so fantastic about making it easier. It's definitely not just about having sleek fitness equipment. I love getting to tell Rachel how proud I am of the positive steps I've been making. It's an enormous relief and I feel so much more confident just knowing that I have help in working towards where I need to be. P.S. The healthy smoothie station is THE BOMB after a good work out.
